Bridesmaid gifts on a budget?

Karyn, on August 7, 2016 at 10:35 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22

Anyone have any good ideas on some semi-cheap but thoughtful bridesmaids gifts? ANY ideas welcomed. Thanks!

6 bridesmaids. And I'm not sure yet. It would be amazing to keep under $150 but idk if that's possible.

I've been looking on Etsy for some jewelry to help stretch my budget.

You can look on amazon. They have the silk robes with the monograms for like $17-35 I think that would fit your budget. Etsy also has some nice jewelry for less than $20 a piece with a nice thank you note inside the box.

You don't need to get them the same gift. Just think about what you would get them for their birthday that falls in your budget.

Another vote for etsy jewelry, or toiletries. Mandy sellers even offer customized packaging

I have 4 bridesmaids and a junior bridesmaid. I got them, a bracelet from Etsy, black clutches from Davids Bridal and silver shawls from Amazon and it was all under $50 each(with out tax or shipping). That was my budget and it worked for me. Etsy has some great stuff! Just discovering it now!

I would get them something unique to them. Without the word "bridesmaid" on it because they likely won't use it again.

Like PP said, you don't have to get them the same thing. You can just buy them a gift in the price range that they'd like!

Idk how crafty you are, but you can buy plain tote bags at Hobby Lobby in 6 packs for like $10 and you can get cute bows or appliqués to glue on them and personalize them. They make wine tote bags too...if your girls drink wine you could put a bottle of wine in each one.

I have 6 bridesmaids and I got them all a picture frame and then a small wrapped gift from lush and that came out to about $140. I'm also going to write each of them a letter to make it a little more personal and let them know I will print out their favorite picture from the wedding to put in the frame.

I got them lunch tote bags with their first initial, a mug with their favorite disney character on it, earrings, a small bottle of wine and candy. Only the earrings were for the wedding. I was trying to keep it around $30 per bm, since we also paid for one night at the hotel for them.

Your best bet is to get them something personal that is not wedding related. You could get each bm something different and buy for them like it's their birthday. Or you can buy them all something similar, but personalize pieces of it like I did. Some budget friendly ideas are:

-A bottle wine with a personalized wine glass. By personalized, I mean that it's a favorite color or has to do with a favorite hobby.

-A gift card to a favorite restaurant or to the movies.

-A survival kit with small bottles of liquor, their favorite snacks, Advil, lotion, etc. (I did something similar to this for my MOH and put it in a travel case.)

-A lovely note, box of candy, and a picture frame with an IOU for a picture from the wedding of the two of you.

Thanks ladies. Loving the ideas! I was thinking. What if I did like a painting party thing and paid for it and had the painting be the gift? Is that tacky? I thought it might be kind of cute, and we could pick a painting that is friendship/sister themed. Thoughts?

I got my 6 bridesmaids an Alex and Ani bracelet each with a special meaning to our relationship. For his 2 cousins I got them ones that had the meaning of when friends become your family, for my 2 cousins I got ones signifying the bond between women as family that are like sisters, for my friends I did special ones as well.

I think if you don't want to spend a lot of money, then if I was the bridesmaid it would really be the sentiment that counts. Like write out aa nice heartfelt thank you card message for each one of them. I know people think they aren't personal but I LOVE gift cards, because then I can buy what I really want instead of you hoping you picked what I want. Even $10 to Starbucks or $15 or $20 to Sephora would make me super happy if you wrote a nice thank you note with it. It isn't the money you spend that matters as much as that you expressed you appreciate me being your bridesmaid.

I like the painting idea, especially if that's something your girls will enjoy. I would do a thank you card though to go along with it.

They have some cute stuff that can be monogrammed for cheap on oriental trading company. Was going to order some monogrammed beer mugs for groomsmen.

I have five bridesmaids and I would say that I probably spent maybe 75 dollars on all the gifts. Each gift is different and just for that bridesmaid. I have a few wine glasses that I got off Etsy, shot glasses that are themed (off of amazon), a bracelet, and a compact (off of Etsy) with magnets made off of shutterfly. I wanted something that each one would like but was not all the same. I picked the shot glasses and wine glasses because those girls love wine. You can always try things remembered but they can get expensive.

Don't give them stuff!! Either they already own those 'useful' items, or they don't consider them useful at all. Seriously, everyone already has robes, totes, insulated cups etc if they find them useful. Nobody has more cupboard space for your random wine glass or mug. And their jewelry taste almost certainly doesn't match yours. Just don't do it!

Can you tell that every BM gift I've gotten over the years has been donated or tossed soon after the wedding? Because I don't have room in my life for the random crap that matches your taste but not my life.

Get them something they'll really appreciate, like a gift cert for a pedicure!

Check eBay and poshmark. I'm getting my girls wristlets... Coach, MK, and Kate Spade for under $40 each, new with tags of course. Each one is getting the brand I know they already carry. Also, jewelry (not for the wedding) candle, bath &bodyworks.
