Bridesmaid hair help!

Love that hairstyle! All of my bridesmaids have different dresses as well, so I'm letting them all pick their own hairstyle. Some photograph better with updos and some with down dos. All just depends on their preference.

That hair selection is lovely! I encourage you to share with your attendants so they may offer suggestions on complimentary styles. It may be less uniform, but allowing each to choose a style that works well for their own hair would likely be well received.

Since the same style won't look the same on everyone's head, just let them each choose something they actually want. It's more important that they are happy with the way they look than "tied together". Happy friends will be more beautiful

If you're going to require that they all wear the same hairstyle, I hope you know you have to pay for it.

I, personally, did not feel the need to dictate how my bridesmaids wore their hair. They were free to wear it however they wanted to.

Your BMs are all individuals and thus should be treated as such. I am not a fan of dictating a specific hairdo to them and highly recommend allowing them to chose how to style their hair (and whether or not they even want it professionally done).

Keep in mind that if you require they have their hair done a certain way you need to cover the cost of this.

I honestly had no idea that some brides dictate hair styles for bridesmaids until one of my BM's asked me how she should wear her hair. It seems almost dictator-ish to make them wear their hair in the same style. Their individuals so let them wear their how they like. Not everyone's hair holds curls well or looks right in a side bun.

Welcome! My bridesmaids have a similar style dress (all royal purple long with a sweetheart neck) just different sleeve designs. They asked if I did want them in the same style but honestly I couldn’t choose because they all have a different hairstyles/ lengths that compliment them. I am having my hair half up &half down with curls so for them I decided why not wear a style comfortable for you but just have some curls in it to coordinate. Everyone felt comfortable with that selection because they still look themselves but we are coordinated at the same time, it took me months to figure it out but I’m sure you’ll find something that works for you & your girls.

It's very easy to let yourself be sucked in to thinking you have to make every decision for everyone when you are planning your wedding.

Your bridesmaids are individuals. Let them be so.

My bridesmaids (9 girls) will be in different dresses, all long, all chiffon, and all the same color. I'm just letting them choose their own hairstyle, makeup, shoes, and jewelry! I think the colors will be matching enough, then they can each do something they would normally do.
