Bridesmaid Pj's/day of Gifts

Angelica, on December 13, 2022 at 5:29 PM Posted in Planning 2 7

Hi everyone!!

I am 6 months away from the big day! I am trying to put together a box of gifts for my bridesmaids of gifts for them to have for the day of the wedding! So far I've got some champagne flutes and jewelry for them but I'd like to give them pj's as well!

I am having them where the color cinnamon from Davids Bridal and I am trying to find pj's that match that are not satin but I'm having a hard time! Anyone have suggestions? Also, I know it's my wedding so I don't have to have the pj's match the girls dresses but I would like it!

What did everyone else do for pj's and whatnot?

Thank you from this anxious soon to be bride Smiley smile lol

I did leggings, zip hoodies, and slippers for my bridesmaids to get ready in. We got ready in a hotel room then drove over to the church (where I put on my dress), and I didn't really want to be walking into church in a robe or pjs. As a bonus, I could wear my leggings and zip hoodie to the airport on our way to our honeymoon!

You can find a ton of options on Etsy, especially if you want to get things personalized.

If you can't find your colors, black and white with their names, not titles, embroidered on the back would look just as nice. Etsy will be your best bet!

Are they comfortable wandering around in PJs in front of others? Some people aren't, so you want to check that before you get them anything like that. Personally, I might prefer leggings and a zip-up (like Paige did for her ladies) to PJs. I also recommend not putting titles (or names or anything else) on them, because, again, you want your ladies to be comfortable (and again, personally, I don't wear things with my name on).

We just wore what was comfortable - the majority of people don't do the whole matching PJs/robe/outfit thing, it's mostly a social media trend.

I’m taking my maid of honor to get a manicure the morning of (I have an evening ceremony, so plenty of time), so I’m planning on getting us cute t-shirts and shorts or something to wear to that. And then when we get back to the bridal suite after, I do love the matching PJ thing and found robes I’m in love with on Etsy (they’re satin though), so we’ll change into those once we’re back at the hotel. But yeah, this was all Etsy. I should basically have a sign at my wedding at this point saying “brought to you by Etsy” lol because I’m getting everything there. But if you just go on and scroll through different bridesmaid gift stores, you’ll see tons of options!

I got mine a tote bag with matching cosmetic case, satin robes, slippers, bracelet, cozy scarf, and non-slip socks for dancing.

I asked them to wear leggings/sweatpants and a button up shirt they own that they are comfortable in to get ready. The button up is so important to avoid having to cut a tshirt down the front to not mess up the hard work of the hair/makeup team. No one was comfortable with the idea of pjs or robes, even though it’s a tight friend group.

As far as thank you gifts, we made sure those were matched to their everyday personal interests, similar to a birthday or Christmas gift. We specifically didn’t want any items that were props for us for our pictures that the wedding industry pushes as legitimate thank you gifts. We covered their hair/makeup. They provided their own jewelry, because that’s not the couple’s responsibility as accessories. They provided their own shoes. We didn’t miss the champagne because we had coffee or cocoa in mugs instead, and no one in our circles drinks wine.

The thank you gifts are probably best to be tailored specifically for each person vs something for the wedding. I like the idea of spa gift cards or something you'd get them for their birthday.
