Bridesmaid Proposal Box too cheap?

I will be getting married 8/18/18. I would like to send my "proposals" 8.18.17 and I'm on a budget. I was thinking of sending something creative like a balloon proposal where they would pop the balloon and inside it would be confetti and "will you be my bridesmaid". I will be getting married 8/18/18. I would like to send my "proposals" 8.18.17 and I'm on a budget. I was thinking of sending something creative like a balloon proposal where they would pop the balloon and inside it would be confetti and "will you be my bridesmaid". I have 11 bridesmaids so it would $134.30 total including shipping. Should I add something else in the box? After they pop them...its nothing else for them to keep. Is this idea too expensive for just a balloon? I was thinking about adding a personalized card and save the date cookie and popcorn as well but that's more money! I will be also giving each girl a box for the bachelorette party, and a thank you gift.

Is someone else throwing the engagement party for you? If so, I think the 23rd with a Christmas theme is fine.

It sounds like you're paying $134 to ship out air and confetti. I think the cards would be a better idea and also cheaper. I personally would just cut the balloon near the knot to prevent exploding confetti and unnecessary loud sounds.

Yeah no confetti! I'm doing boxes but I'm going to do them on a budget things I'm going to do:

    Favorite candy

    Ring pops

    Mini champagne bottles

    Cards

    Pics of me and them

Small amount gift cards for things like Starbucks or ice cream

I don't plan on spending a huge amount it's more about the gesture and the time taken to make it look cute.

@susan my MOH will be home for Christmas ( she stays out of state) and asked me about throwing it for me since she'd be home for the holidays

Not to be rude, but if you can't afford to ask 11 bridesmaids how can you afford their flowers, day of gifts, etc.? 11 sounds a little excessive. Personally I'm a sucker for those little champagne bottles. They are just SO cute and who in the world doesn't love champagne??

Wooo I only have four and they can be too much can't imagine 11! But hey if you got 11 people you can't bare to be without then okay. But keep in mind that every cute idea is multiplied by 11 or even 22 for their partners. That cute thing that was $5.00 $50 or $100 things will add up quick. And believe me as you get deeper and deeper into the wedding planning you will see that you aren't going to save as much as you can for the important things. I think this is Pinterest's fault. We get all these amazing ideas and you want to do every one of them!

ETA: for mine I did them all at separate times. For my sister my MOH we wine to the movies to see sisters and I gave her a sister ornament. For my fiend laura I was visiting her after she had a baby so I bought her a baby gift and flowers and just wrote the mason jar vase. For my friend his cousin I gave her a little yoda and put a note that said "Yvette's bridesmaid you'll be? " and for my aunt I gave her a little peace of paper inside a ring box that I folded a million times. I didn't spend much at all. Maybe $30.

Wait! This is too soon to ask your bridal party. Waiting until 8 months out is HIGHLY recommended! Just search this website for BP issues - most of the time they chose too early.

Do what you want- ITS YOUR WEDDING.

Remember that through all of this. YOUR WEDDING.

if you want 11, do 11! If you want glitter and balloons do it- you know your friends best!

If you want a Christmas Eve engagement party, do it!

It's your wedding, and people just want to celebrate that with you!

I see no problem with the 11 BMs. As far as the confetti balloon, just think of each of their personalities...would they appreciate and finding it warming? If so, go for it. If not, maybe seek a proposal gift idea other posters suggested.

@dana I had to actually delete the app off my phone because my head was spinning... and take a break from it. as you go through you see what ideas you keep going back to and really matter to you. The main thing is to try to edit yourself. Or have someone be honest and KIND and help you edit some of your ideas. And always look for what you can execute the best with the least amount of stress or money.

Y'all I'm at my desk almost in tears. To think that strangers could be so nice and honest with little ol me! I just got engaged in May and I'm clearly VERY excited haha!! at the end of the day if they're really my friends they'll say yes with a balloon or phone call or bottle of wine. It's just so awk talking about plans when I can tell they are just itching to know if they're going to be in it.& they keep indirectly asking me since they are excited too! I'll have to ponder on this some more b/c the point of the tacky sweater party was for the wedding party to meet but I see now that might be bad timing to have an engagement party. And it wouldn't make sense to have one if we haven't asked the ppl to be in the wedding and got their responses yet. To be continued ...

I have my girls a floral box from michaels and inside I put tissue paper, Victoria's Secret body spray, body scrub and something else I forgot. Then I wrote a card copying from Pinterest ideas asking them to be my bridesmaid

I would just send them a cute little box with stuff in it. I got face masks and bath bombs and stuff at target! Then I bought these cards on sale from Michaels that say "I found my man but I still need my girls". Super cheap and cute! I spent maybe $20 per girl! I only have 5 bridesmaids though. Haha. Also I'm going against everyone on weddingwire and asking my girls over a year in advance. I got caught up in the excitement but I'm confident in who I chose!
