Bridesmaid proposal boxes

JJAF, on August 10, 2017 at 9:59 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 42

I recently got engaged and am planning to put together some bridesmaid proposal boxes for my bridesmaids. If you have had previous experience as a bridesmaid, or have any ideas of what you would find practical or cute to include, that would be super helpful. Thank you!!

*** For those just writing to tell me it's TOO EARLY TO ASK, don't bother. As I have responded to others, I am just PLANNING and do not have intentions to ask anytime soon. I don't even have a wedding date set yet so it doesn't make sense for me to ask without a concrete wedding date even set yet. My "wedding date" is just a date I set two years from now BUT IS NOT my wedding date. I am NOT asking for advice on WHEN to ask but for BRIDESMAID PROPOSAL IDEAS. Please be respectful and actually answer my question!

I kept mine pretty simple. It had three things: mini bottle of champagne with a will you be my bridesmaid label, a mini voluspa candle, and a few ghirardelli chocolates. I didn't want to spend a ton on these since it's definitely not something necessary.

In mine I included a mini bottle of wine, some candy and a tshirt that said maid of honor for my maid of honor and for my bridesmaids I included some candy, a mug that said bridesmaid and a little notepad that said "to do list". Check out TJ Maxx or home goods for cute little gifty wedding things!

I am a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding and she sent us a scratch off saying "will you be my bridesmaid?", a sleep mask that said "wake me up for brunch", a Bridesmaid tiara, and some chocolate.

For my wedding, I kept mine simple and sent my girls heartfelt cards with personal messages about the memories we've had, asking them to be my bridesmaid. I found cute ones on Zazzle and then customized! I'd prefer to spend the money on stuff they can use again and will enjoy so I got them high end monogram totes and picked out jewelry for them based on their style. I plan on giving these gifts at the rehearsal dinner. I'd rather spend money on stuff I know they will enjoy rather than stuff that's fun for a weekend. I am alos putting mini wine bottles in their totes!

I'd wait another year and then some to ask though!

Mine was stupid easy. Small gift box, tissue paper on the bottom to make a ring slot, and then a ring pop in said slot. They were cheap and adorable!

Way too soon to ask. You shouldn't ask until about 8-10 months before your wedding.

Ladies who are telling me not to ask too soon- I'm not asking them anytime soon. I'm a planner so I like to think about things ahead of time.

Best I received was a handwritten card. Simple yet sentimental.

That's fine to plan ahead, but don't buy anything yet especially if you plan on putting names on them.

I started planning my wedding (without booking or buying anything) before I got engaged and while some things stayed the same, I changed my mind on a lot of things!

Since you've got 2 years, you might end up changing your mind on stuff too.

I am definitely not purchasing anything nor putting any names down yet. I haven't even decided who my bridesmaids will be. As of now, I am just writing on here to bounce ideas off of others to figure out what people found was practical. I enjoy planning ahead and reading through these forums to gauge what types of issues may come up during wedding planning and what things I should include in my wedding budget.

I also wanted to note that even though I have my wedding date set as 8/10/2019, I don't even have a wedding date set yet. WeddingWire required me to put down a wedding date and we're planning for around a two year engagement so I just set it to two years from now.

I included a bride tribe shot glass, a mini bottle of wine, and white rose bath bombs from Etsy with a tag that read 'It would be the bomb, if you would be my bridesmaid.' I also put a golden ticket that said Maid of Honor in the box for my MOH.

I did a proposal box - it included a mini bottle of champagne, a mini 'inspiration board' of my color scheme, small candle that matched the color scheme, a STD card made especially for them and a personalized handwritten card asking them be BMs!

I included a wine glass with their name on it, a mini wine bottle, cute hair ties that match our color scheme, and a small makeup bag. It doesn't need to be anything fancy!

I asked my sister to be my MOH with this, plus a large anchor since it matched her bedroom theme and her sorority's symbol is an anchor. I'm asking my bridesmaids with the a smaller bottle of wine, and instead of the hat and anchor I'm asking them with a robe and a few other goodies like bath bombs and lotions.
