Bridesmaid proposal boxes

Amari, on January 14, 2020 at 4:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Did you do one?

if so, where did you buy yours/ what did you use for DIY

What did you include with your box

What was your budget on these. I honestly feel like I'm being so cheap because most boxes for just a simple empty with maybe a customized name is $20. I still have to fill it with stuff too and we are paying for our wedding as well so i'm trying to be boujie but on a budget

We skipped them. They feel bribe-y to me and I was much more comfortable asking my friends to be in my wedding without an unnecessary gift.

I skipped them – I didn't want to make a big deal out of asking my bridesmaids if they ended up having to say no. I just called them and said that they meant a lot to me, and that I'd be honored if they wanted to be in my bridal party. It felt way more sincere! I'm planning on getting them gifts for the wedding itself (monogrammed robes to get ready in, plus necklaces to wear the day of), and I think that's enough.

I got wood jewelry boxes from Michaels and filled them with liquor shooters, nail polish and hair ties that said "to have and to hold your hair back".

I asked all my bridesmaids first if they would want to be one. After they all said yes I gave them these boxes:

I also tried not spend so much since I have 6 girls in my bridal party. I got a 12 pack of 12x12 boxes from amazon for around $14 I believe and just dressed them up with ribbon from Michaels, and the inside with tissue paper from target and gift crinkle paper from the dollar store. The 'bride squad' signs were actually cards from amazon, also cheap. The mini wine bottles were from target, they had a 4 pack. The compact mirrors were a dollar at Michaels. The only main splurge were the wine glasses with their names on them, for 6 it was about $54. I also added chocolate covered pretzels (not pictured) store bought and put them in clear goodie bags from walmart. It was simple, but I wanted to ask them with proposal boxes.

From one bougie person on a budget to another lol. I got the boxes and tumblers off etsy and went with a starbucks theme. One of my friends did cheap champagne bottles and on etsy you can get wine lables made for cheap and she gave them a card that said s#!t got real lol. Here is my MOH box. Check etsy for ideas but below are my sellers. Both were great. You can buy the box and go to home good and get some cute stemless wine glasses, cookies and try to create a night in type vibe or some scented lotions and bath washes.

I bought them and made my own. Nothing personalized just did them in their favorite color and scents. They each got a different message to. Bridesmaid proposal boxes 4
I got everything from tj max or Tuesday morning so it was pretty cheap. Each box was about $40

I too got my boxes off amazon for cheap and they were honestly pretty sturdy, they survived being mailed. I filled them with decorative paper and filler material. I made the champagne flutes using milk glass paint and got the glasses at IKEA in a 6 pack for $3 each pack. The card and cookie were from Etsy shops, the make up bag from David's Bridal. The split of sparkling were from your basic grocery store. I spent $23 on each box and had 8 boxes to send. It was a pricey move but my girls (and man of honor) loved them!!!

I am in the same boat as you. We are paying for our wedding too and I don't want to feel like I'm spending unnecessary money if i don't need to. The idea is awesome though. Let me know how it turns out for you. I'm getting married 10/16/2021.

I didn't do a proposal box because I didn't want anyone to feel awkward if they had to say no to me.

Instead, I'm doing little gift boxes for them on the day of the wedding as a thank you for supporting me and being there for me.

I got stuff on sale at Bath and Body works (A candle holder that says "love" all around it, a mini "bride tribe" candle, a "bride tribe" pocket bac, some gold and silver nail polish, and a koozie that says 'Will You Be My Bridesmaid? with little check boxes with yes, no, and maybe! My twin sister is my MOH and worked at B&BW, so I got that stuff on a discount, but in all, I paid about $15 for the koozies and nail polishes!

I did gifts, but very small ones. I went on Etsy (best place for this kind of thing, trust me) and got them cards that said "Pretend Like You Didn't Know This Was Coming!" and then a personalized reusable water bottle with their names on them. My bridesmaids loved them and I think I spent $15/ea.
