bridesmaid proposal

Nicole, on September 25, 2023 at 7:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
Does anyone have any budget saving idea for asking my girls to be my bridesmaids ? I live in a. Different state from my girls and it would cost so much to mail each a proposal box

You could just call each of them and ask over the phone! Doesn't cost anything and it's personal. If you really wanted to get them something, you could get them each a card or a personalized puzzle to ask them to be bridesmaids. Each of my bridesmaids live in a different state all across the country, so I mailed each person a personalized puzzle that I found on Etsy that asked them to be in my wedding party. The puzzles were inexpensive, fun for them to put together, and didn't put pressure on anyone accept.

This whole bridesmaid proposal trend is relatively new (within the last 10 years). As Lisa suggested, you can just call them and ask.

I’ve only seen “proposal boxes” done online. In real life, most brides I know ask the old fashioned way, either in person or on the phone if they live a distance away.

I’m not a big fan of them as IMO it puts additional pressure on people to say yes. When you consider the outsized expectations put on a weddling party today, both inappropriately imposed and self imposed, the expense, etc. I especially think it’s better to keep it simple. Just ask.

Just ask them. Proposal boxes are unnecessary and a fairly new trend that tends to put pressure on someone to say yes.

I agree with everyone else - a proposal box isn't necessary. A low cost idea would be to print out your favorite picture with each person (or a handful of favorite memories), and include them with a handwritten letter that expresses how much each means to you and how meaningful it would be to have them stand next to you at your wedding.

I just asked mine. I think the proposal box is added pressure and expense for no real purpose.

Skip the Kardashian-created proposal boxes and ask them in a regular conversation however you normally communicate. If you are local, take them out for coffee or lunch and ask. If they are not local, ask them over the phone or social media private message

Just pick up the phone and ask them.

I would skip the proposal box idea and just call them individually and ask!
