I gave each girl a choice between a waffle cotton robe, romper, or long pj shirt. All were black & had their initials, they ranged from $25-$32 each. I'm paying for them. I think if you want everyone to buy a getting ready outfit, you should pay for them. You can always find cheaper ones on Amazon, RobeMart or Ebay!

The bride should buy them since they’re a prop for her own wedding photos.

We did not. We all got ready in what we were comfortable in.

If the bride wants cute outfits to get ready in, she needs to pay for them.

I agree, the only thing I would like is the robes but my girls all want Pj’s but I don’t want pjs instead and I don’t want to buy them.

Nope. Not buying my girls anything to wear. They're friends/family not props for photos.

I think the bride should buy them, but I have to disagree with the whole "prop" idea.

When I was a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding, she got us all matching robes to get ready in. When I was a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding, she got us all matching zip-up hoodies to get ready in. I never thought of either gifts as just a prop, and I've gotten many uses out of both items since they were gifted to me.

I bought bridesmaid robes off Ebay. They aren't personalized or anything but are dark blue with flowers and mine is white with flowers. They were cheaper but not personalized. I just got them today and the blue ones are nice and a bit longer than I thought which might be a good thing too! Mine is thinner but that's ok I had a feeling it might be lol.

I wanted the robe look for photos, but didn’t like the prices (for 9 in the wedding party it would’ve been too expensive). Soooo I found some kimono style robes (one size fits all) at 5 and Below for $5 a piece. I’ll prob have everyone put on a white shirt underneath since it’s not technically a robe. But I’ll still have the look for a fraction of the price. They have a black one online I believe, but I’m store I found blue ones to match my wedding colors.

We are doing button down shirts. We are having hair and makeup at the salon so I figured they would be more comfortable in a shirt than a robe.

I got some iron on glitter decals on Etsy, and got some basic satin robes on Amazon. We didn't use them to truly get ready, but they were a nice thing to throw on while we were lounging and having breakfast. (We got hair & makeup done at a salon, so full clothing was needed lol). I think each robe ended up costing about $20 in the end.

But no way would I have asked them to buy something I required - I made these as a gift because I wanted to!

I am doing pajamas with a button down front so no one has to worry about taking off a shirt after hair and makeup is done. I know you get the same effect with a robe, but you still would wear something under it. I personally did not want a robe because I feel like it is silly to wear around for myself because it is not something I would normally do and felt that pajamas would definitely be more comfortable.

I bought robes on etsy for my girls. I just think it makes for nice photos. I did not get anything on them. I just got them all flowered of the same colored and mine is flowered and a different color. I paid for them. I am considering them a gift, but I also got them a none wedding related gift to go with it.

I’m buying them for my 4 bridesmaid and the flower girls. I’m buying them off Etsy. It’s going to be like 70$ with shipping to get them ! I think it’s fun and one less thing for them to buy!

I wanted classic embroidery and saw some on Davids' Bridal and checked Etsy too. David's bridal was expensive and didn't find that many on Etsy that would do embroidery. I googled and found this company. They have different types of monograms and embroidery on satin robes. https://www.zynotti.com/personalization-gifts/satin-robes/embroidery
