Bridesmaid shaves off all her hair

Ok, so one of my bridesmaids just posted a picture on facebook that said "New Haircut". She has shaved off all her hair. It's not a pixie cut. Ok, so one of my bridesmaids just posted a picture on facebook that said "New Haircut". She has shaved off all her hair. It's not a pixie cut. It's a straight "Britney Spears going crazy Sinead O'Connor Natalie Portman" shaved off head.

Then she posts in my bridesmaid FB group that she did it. So, I just said...As long as it grows back into something cute and manageable by the fall, you can do whatever you want...

I also joked on her picture saying, "Seems like someone wants to wear their bridesmaid dress in the audience." lol

IMO, It's not cute on her at all

I know it's a little shallow. I also know you don't pick your bridesmaids based on what they look like. You pick them based on what they mean to you. However, it's just something that's a little annoying to think about months before my wedding.

I hope she lets it grow back and it grows back quickly at least to the point where she can get some weave or extensions cause this experiment is not cute at all

You can never just vent here because they wait for the complaint and dive into the kill like little vultures! I would definitely be like what the hell, If my BM shaved her head AFTER we already discussed hairstyles!! My sister was rocking the half shaved head with it long on one side. I said she better grow it out or wear weave. I'm like if you want your hair like that save it for your wedding but it won't be in mines. It isn't the epitome of class to me. My mom got mad but oh well.

These comments are comical..lol...YES it is her head, NO I do not think we picked our bridal party based on their looks but what they mean to us, but be for real, I would have had a cow had one of my BM pulled this stunt! Would I have gotten over this, yes absolutely with no problem but I would still feel some way about this

@ Kimberly - Your look is cute and stunning! ...and I'm sure your friends are used to you looking that way.

My friend just did this out of the blue. She went from neck length to buzz cut in a day. lol A drastic change like that would shock anyone.

Another thing is, she just got married 2 weeks ago. I'm gonna ask her why she didn't shave it off then...lol

Ok, I can honestly say that I "truly" don't care what my bridesmaids look like...I am NOT choosing their dresses, I am NOT choosing their shoes, I am NOT choosing their hair, nor am I choosing their accessories!

I told my MoH that I don't care what she picks, she could come in a thong and pasties, just have it match the palate. If she shows up in a thong and pasties...I guess she will out-do me in the attention factor! LMAO!

If she shaves her head, or gets a giant dragon and skull tattoo that shows everywhere, I don't give a flying f***. She is my most best friend in the world and regardless of what she wears, how she does her hair and makeup, what shoes she is wearing or wtf crazy tattoo/bald/mohawk/green dyed hair/whatever, I don't care...as long as she's there with me on my special day sharing it with me and my friends and family.

This is just funny now. I'm not trying to argue either or say I'm a "non judgmental" bride, lol, I was just trying to point out what really matters at the end of the day.

When I first got engaged I had a brief moment of picturing my wedding party and all that goes along with it. Once the wedding got closer I had bridesmaids changing hair colors/styles, some got pregnant, some lost tons of weight, I mean... you name it. I thought about that picture I had early on and thought, well that's out the window! Then I thought, does it matter? And, on a shallow point, all I cared about was that my husband and I looked awesome! If I had a bridesmaid show up in sweatpants, she would have looked like a fool, not me. And the pictures of the wedding party as a group are nice, I love them, but I LOVE the pictures of my husband and I the most Smiley smile

The timing isn't the best, and it blows you had no sort of warning it was going to happen, but roll with it. If it does look that bad on her maybe she'll realize it and wear a wig or whatever. I can definitely see how it would be a major annoyance, but your wedding day will be awesome no matter what your bridesmaids look like : )

Gotta love our friends Smiley smile

I do find it to be amusing that anyone would get mad about that...not at OP but just in general. There are so many bigger things to worry about! Did she cut it off for charity? I have several friends that went shaven when they did that.

I meant I had to do it on your post.

Cutting my hair was my choice. It's been like this for a year now and I can't see myself with hair now.

Some women can rock a shaved head. Others can not. I for one, could never do it, because based on what I feel, I have a funky shaped head.

Yardie, sorry other people are so upset. I think you have the right to mini-rant here. Saves you from doing it in real life to your friend!

This wasn't for charity or in solidarity to anything...this was just a spontaneous experiment gone bad...

we have a little time so we'll see what happens by the fall...

I didn't yell at her or anything. Like I said, It's her hair. She can do what she wants.

It was just annoying to me who is planning a wedding and has a vision for it. I'm just not one of those women who didn't care about what her wedding party looked like. I put a lot of effort into all of this and I want to see it come out well.

I just spoke with her again.

She said she's going to grow it out. It's not going to be a permanent thing..... and put in a weave or extensions if need be to walk in the wedding.

Yes, there's more important things to be worried about and yada yada yada...but I am allowed to have a mini vent on WW, as Kimber said, if I want to...it's healthy to get it out.

Thanks Ladies!! I'm sure we've all had a laugh and a "OMG" on this one!

I would have probably been a lot more upset if I put more effort into the wedding party. I just told them to show up in black dresses that didn't show too much cleavage, haha.

That's really cool that she's willing to do whatever for the weddin. Proves that you chose a great friend to be a bridesmaid!

And vent away! I get it for sure, I'd love to vent more, but I'm an introvert. I just wanted to get the point across that your wedding will be fantastic no matter what!! So don't stress yourself too much : )

Kimberly L.--I totally thought of you when this posted. I LOVE the way you look!

And I am NOT a saint. Never claimed to be. Some of us just don't get the whole "hair" issues (or lack of it). That's all.

And when you came on here to vent--were you really shocked that you got comments that were contrary to your opinion? Have you ever seen a post where that didn't happen? It doesn't mean we this less of you (I don't) but just that theree are other points of view.

Oh I always expect the contrary comments...but that doesn't mean I can't come back and say what I want either...

I said earlier....we agree to disagree.... Smiley smile

Kimberly- you look gorgeous with your shaved head but not all of us are blessed to have such great facial features or head shapes. I'd look like Uncle Fester if I shaved my head. Smiley winking

I just wanted to say that anyone being disrespectful on this post makes me really tense because I think Yardiegirl is really Michelle Obama and I'm like "You can't talk to her like that!!!"

    A) "Britney Spears going crazy Sinead O'Connor Natalie Portman" shaved off head. --> yardiegirl you are hilarious.

    B) maybe you can get her a tux and she can be a groommen?

i dont no, part of me thinks its a little crazy to be mad that she shaved her head, the other part of me thinks O HELL NO SHE DID WHAAATTTT???!!!! AND SHE IS GONNA BE IN MY WEEEDDDDINNNGGG?

i've heard of girls laying out rules to there bridesmaids when they ask them "no gaining weight, no dying/cutting your hair with out my approval, no getting a boob job that will out shine my own set" at the end of the day, you get to stand by her and people will look at your beautiful hair and go "that girl has nice hair to bad about her friend"

I would prob be annoyed. Yes with my bridesmaid but mostly with myself. If I did not have the foresite to stipulate in the very beginning that I have a vision of my wedding party and how I would like it to look so please do not make any drastic changes if it can be helped to your appearance until after the wedding. Then given anybody the chance to step down if they felt they couldn't comply. that way, if something like this happened I would feel justified in asking the persson to step down when they did not comply. Otherwise a person's personal appearance is their's to do with as they will. Was it inconsiderate of her not to first check, probably but I would be surprised if your wedding is as important to her as it is to you and therefore she most likely didn't set out to sabbotage your vision.

@ Kimberly, YES GURL YOU ARE KICK ASS ROCKING THAT BALD LOOK!

@ OP it's understood that u r venting and I'm sorry she ruined your vision but we r only voicing our opinions
