Bridesmaids dresses will take too long

B2B2020, on November 15, 2019 at 1:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19
I finally found the perfect bridesmaids dresses. Alerted the girls as our wedding is the 3rd week in March. When they went to order them it was shown that they won't arrive until March 6th??? Have y'all ever been in this situation? We have a wedding planner and it wasn't brought up about the urgency to order dresses yet.

Any suggestions or tips would be wonderful!

I would suggest finding another dress. I'm not sure where you're ordering from, and it's very possible that it won't actually take that long - but I wouldn't chance it. There are plenty of beautiful dresses that you can get in time!

Check out Azazie. But if it’s David’s bridal who said they won’t come in on time I would take that with a grain of salt. I’ve ordered quite a few bridesmaid dresses from them and they’ve never taken longer than a month to come in.

When we go to order online it's giving us that date. My guess is it's the color. As it's not a basic color? It's a specialty color

DB might come in earlier, but I wouldn't risk it. My sis/moh was told December and got hers mid-October, buuuut I'm not sure that is the norm. I would look at Azazie or see if there is another dress from them you could get sooner.

Which color? Some of them are rarer or less used than others I think, so maybe you could pick a different color from their color wheels. There are a lot of options.

David's gives ridiculous windows to cover themselves. You can get rush shipping if you are really concerned but my girls ordered their dresses at the same time and they came in 2 weeks. I wouldn't worry about it. 2 weeks is also enough time to do alterations if you are worried about that.

Also check out poshmark! One of my bridesmaid's got hers new with tags on it at a deep discount- all she has to do is the hemming.

I ordered my wedding dress from David's bridal and they said it would be 2-3 months to come in...I had it in my hands in less than a month. But definitely have a backup plan and ask them about rush shipping if you are concerned.

I think they do that just in case. I’ve ordered 5 or 6 bridesmaids dresses from them and a few have said they wouldn’t be there in time for the wedding, they all came in super quickly. If you don’t want to risk it I would use Azazie.

I found really beautiful dresses on amazon for my girls. I know they won’t be able to try them on. But at least they’ll get them fairly quickly so if they don’t fit they can send them back and order a different size. Best of luck! ❤️

Azazie would probably be a great option for you - lots of styles and colors and have always come in super fast for me.

I think majority of the boutiques have an extended timeframe as such. I was told the same thing by three shops that my bridesmaids and I went to. My girls just placed their orders the end of October for my April wedding and we were informed that the dresses won't be in until the end of February or beginning of March. The crazy thing is the shop owner kept emailing and calling me to pressure everyone to order by the end of October (which is the deadline I gave them anyways). I would either shop around and hopefully you find it somewhere else or listen to all the other lovely ladies and order them online. Good luck!
