Hello ladies! What do you think is a reasonable cost or cost range for bridesmaids dresses?

I assume they will be paying? I would stay under $200, maybe even less if they are expected to pay for hair/make up, an out of town bachelorette party, or for a hotel/transportation to the wedding.

You should be asking your bridesmaids what their budget is.

Definitely talk to your bridesmaids about their budget. I've been a bridesmaid several times and usually paid between $100-150 for my dresses, not including alterations and stuff like that.

I have been wondering the same as well. I guess it depends on everyone's budget really. You should definitely talk to your bridesmaids about what works for them. If there was a specific dress you really wanted them to wear that happened to be over their budget, maybe putting some money toward it would be the way to go. I'm planning on dresses for $100 if possible.

Check out Azazie!! Their dresses are $99-$130 and very nice quality. My friend who just got married had us get our dresses from Azazie and they were so nice, I decided to use it too! You can get swatches of colors too which is nice.

I think reasonable is whatever your bridesmaids can afford to spend.

I agree that asking them about budget is probably the best choice to really narrow things down, but it's also an awkward conversation. My goal was to have $100 or under options for my girls. I just thought that $100 is a nice round number, and if it were me, although I'd be ok with spending up to $200 or $300 even, it'd be nice to have cheaper options. I went with mismatched dresses from Azazie because they actually have a decent selection under $100, and more expensive options if anyone wants anything a little nicer (lace detailing, different cuts, etc). I think two ended up with $90 dresses, and one was a little over $100.

I think the most my girls paid for their dresses was $100-125.

It depends on your girls. I didn't want them spending much more than $125ish.

It depends how formal your wedding is, look you're going for, other expenses, and festivities, too. Are they paying for their MUAH? Is there an out of town bachelorette party, bridal shower, or engagement party? Wedding transportation to a destination or hometown? Ask your bridesmaid what their budget is and what they're comfortable buying at different price points.

We are going to a bridal boutique and they are picking their own styles but all will be the same color. The morilee collection is what we are going with and they run between 150-200. I hope this helps! Smiley smile

I think this is definitely something to ask your bridesmaid on how much they're comfortable spending Smiley smile

My girls got their dresses from David's Bridal. One paid $140 during a sale on bridesmaid dresses and the other one paid $160 after the sale ended.

Personally, I would try to stay under $250. I have had friends go crazy and pick out $400-500 dresses. After alterations and shoes...we were all a bit irritated at the amount we had to spend. I would say, if it is a daytime wedding with a more laid back theme...keep it under $150. For a more formal affair, still try to stay under $250. Like I said above...there is still the shoes and undergarments they have to purchase. They will all get their hair and nails done for the day as well. I would try to think about all of that.

It TOTALLY depends on your bridesmaids' financial situations! Last summer I could afford much for my best friends wedding so we found 25 dollar dresses from Amazon. This year, I'm getting married and she bought a 99 dollar dress from azazie. Just ask everyone privately what they can afford and choose the smallest budget to follow.
