Definitely ask what their budget is or let them choose for themselves. If I was in a wedding and the bride expected me to buy an expensive dress( $100+ is expensive to me), as well as all the additional cost that is involved with being in a wedding... I may have to opt out. I think "expensive" or "inexpensive" depends on who it is and what situation they are in. I am a college student and planning my own wedding myself. I am going to be a BM about 6 months before my own wedding and I've already disscused my limits with the bride. There are simply things I will not be able to afford to do! So, I will not put that kind of pressure on my BMs. They are my support network and my teammates.. How can they support me when they themselves are overwhelmed and stressed. Sorry if I got off topic, I just feel very strongly about the financial pressure the bride and groom puts on their closest friends/family. Long answer short.. Be mindful and make it a discussion!!!! Sorry 😅

Are you brides maids paying? If so you are taking the prices from strangers who do not know your girls over your girls.

Actually I’m in a wedding as well so this was more regarding the 320.00 dress I’m being asked to purchase vs my own wedding. I wanted to see what the general perception is, you know a consensus to see if I’m being cheap or if the other bride is being unreasonable. but thanks for your input

Definitely have a talk with them to see what they are comfortable with! I have a collection of dresses that I will have them choose from that range from $89 - $160 so they can choose the dress and price point that they are comfortable with!

When I gave my Bridesmaids and MOH their proposal I included in the proposal that I expect them to pay $300 for dress and shoes and anything over I will pay the difference and I will also pay for of wedding day make-up, jewelry, bouquet and night before wedding accommodations. I included all my expectations in the proposal so that they knew what they were agreeing to.

I think the definition of a reasonable price for a bridesmaid dress really depends on who you are asking I agree to ask your bridesmaids what they think but my opinion is $60-85

Hi! I’ve been browsing dresses and thinking the same. As someone who was once a bridesmaid, I’d say no more than $100-120 for a dress they will most likely wear one time. I’ve been browsing online for weeks and David’s Bridal has had a sale recently with some simple gowns at around $60-75! I sent my MOH the links and told her to take a look!

I didn’t want anyone to spend more then $100 so we ended up with a dress from Lulu’s that was $66 after a discount. Some of the girls even found them on poshmark for cheaper.

Talk to them. I thought between $100 - $130, but they decided on a dress that was $180...

It's slightly dependent on where you are located but for us I'm trying to stay under $100.

I let mine choose their own and it ranged anywhere from 20-130 dollars each. The higher end ones were because they chose one they thought they'd maybe wear again
