Bridesmaids dresses

Rachael, on November 7, 2023 at 10:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
My wedding dress has a v-neckline. I’ve seen that bridesmaids dresses shouldn’t have the same as bride so I’m stuck on what we should do for their dresses. Any suggestions/pics would be great!!

Never heard of that “rule” anywhere nor does it make sense. Especially since bridesmaids and the bride wore the exact same dresses when they came into existence. Ignore all the superstitions and find a flattering style for each person. No two people have the same body type which is why so many styles are available.

I’ve never heard of this neckline rule so I don’t think it’s a thing. Do what you want to do. Bridesmaids dresses have one shoulder, off shoulder, etc

I've seen many pictures with matching necklines and they look great. Plus, a v-neck is more commonly flattering on different figures compared to say boatneck, spaghetti straps, or one-shoulder. You can also have your WP wear different styles of the same fabric.

I've never heard of this rule before either. I definitely wouldn't put any stock in it. I have a feeling this is more a "rule" of aesthetics - having a lot of dresses in a row that look identical can be a bit mundane and not especially pleasing in photos. This is why most brides these days are allowing bridesmaids to choose their own style of dress in the same color - it's more flattering, less boring, and looks more aesthetically pleasing in photos.

One of my bridesmaids had a dress with a similar neckline to mine, and it caused exactly zero issues in photos. I've never heard of that rule before, but I wouldn't pay much attention to it. Instead, I'd let your wedding party pick out the styles that they like best, so that they feel comfortable in what they're wearing.

There is no such rule. Your wedding party should be consulted as to budget and style preferences but that’s all.

I’ve never heard of that rule. Just go with what you like and looks good on them! My bridesmaids all picked out their own dresses, so they have all different necklines.
