Bridesmaid's Gift Bags

Meghan, on March 1, 2020 at 8:28 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
Hi! I'm wondering what sort ideas I should do for the bridal party gift bags, and if what I have is enough or if I should get more.

I have their robes for getting ready and then their faux fur shawls. I was planning on getting them necklaces as well. Is this enough or should I give them more?
What sort of things do bridesmaids actually want?

I think if you add something else, get them something either personal to them or between you both, or something they will definitely use times after the wedding.

I am giving my bridesmaids a bunch of small items - some for the wedding some for not. For instance I plan on taking a picture at my bridal shower of just each of them and myself alone and putting that in a picture frame as one of their gifts.

I would add something else like maybe bath bombs lip balm or even tote bags..simple. I think gift cards are a great idea ...

I went over the top for my girls. I made boxes- in the “Harry Potter House Colours”- and filled them with tons of things that were the same and a few that were each girls favorite.

I think it's totally up to you and your budget. Below is what I'm giving my girls (maybe it'll be helpful). It might seem like a lot, but I'm well under what I budgeted for wedding party gifts. I tried to buy gifts that were practical for the wedding or otherwise (robes, flip flops, shawls), gifts that were personal (hangers, candles) and things that they can continue to use after the wedding (lotion, hand sanitizer, jewelry). I tried to stay away from things that were irrelivant after the wedding, like shirts with our names/wedding date on them or bags that said "bridesmaid" or things like that. I just felt like those types of gifts were less likely to get use out of them. This way the money I spent doesn't feel wasted.

    -Robes
-flip flops (to get ready in and to wear if they want to change out of heels at the reception)

-Necklaces for some, earrings for some (depending on their dress necklines)

-Hangers with their intitals on them (I bought a bulk amount of basic wood hangers on Amazon and burned their intitials on them myself)

-Tiny "Bridesmaid" hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works

    -Personalized Zodiac candles

    -A nice lotion

-Shawls because the weather in New England is unpredictable and our wedding is in May

    -Some type of alcohol

Robes and shawls are nice but they're specifically to be used for your wedding, so that's not really a thank you gift. Shop as though you're picking out a holiday or birthday gift for each person.

I had someone do water color versions of my favorite picture of me and each of my ladies. I also got them nice pajamas (J Crew) that they could feasibly wear again.
