Bridesmaids gifts

Chelsea, on October 30, 2020 at 1:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

So I have a cricket machine and I'm thinking about gifting leggings with bridesmaid on the leg. I want something they can wash and not have to worry about the text peeling. Should I just make them or find a company that can use the proper press so I don't need to worry about the text peeling.

Gift Idea I'm thinking leggings, earrings for all and depending on the girl maybe a wristlet or Tumbler wine cups? not sure. I have 2 girls that are beer over wine drinkers and i have 1 that doesn't drink. Any ideas to share?!

I would suggest doing different gifts for each person based on their individual interests! You could do wine glasses for the girls that like wine, beer glasses for the beer fans, and personalized water bottles for those who don't drink.

I would order those through a business that specializes in them. On the other hand, I don't know individual sizes so that would be an issue. It's a cute idea though.

Personalize the gifts to their individual interests. What do they like? Star Wars, outdoors, baking, etc? Get them something along those lines. You can even make personalized tumblers to fit each theme/interest and they can be used for any beverages.

Instead of 'bridesmaid' on the leggings, I would suggest their monogram on a shirt! That way they can wear it more often and be able to wear it outside of the house. Many people I've talked to about bm gifts say that they wish they got things that didn't have their title on them because after the wedding, they only wear those items at home!

I like Lisa's suggestion about differing glasses to fit the needs of each girl and what they like to drink! If you want them all to look the same, then opt for a vessel that could be universal!

I used my Cricut for everything for this wedding! I think the leggings are a cute idea, if you feel comfortable doing it I say do it yourself! I made my bridesmaids a beach bag, and made them wine glasses, and custom koozies! However, I agree if some of your bridesmaids drink beer just custom make a beer glass instead! I got all of my stuff from the dollar tree so it was real cheap !

I totally agree with Shelly - I advise against putting "Bridesmaid" or any other wedding-related title on things that are intended to be gifts, since they really won't be used again after the wedding. If they're not intended to be gifts, but instead to be used as props for your wedding, then by all means, write the title! You could choose another (non-wedding-related) word instead that aligns with something they're individually interested in (their favorite Harry Potter house, favorite city/state to visit, or even just a generic saying such as "love" or "happiness is a bottle of wine").

Completely agree with this. Anything with the word "bridesmaid" on it is bound to get thrown out after your wedding. I'd recommend monogramming with their initials or name.

So far we haven't had any issues with their gifts! I've made myself different shirts to wear for the showers and what not, and they haven't peeled either. I did buy the Heat Transfer Vinyl, and I ironed it on the bags, the shirts, and the koozies. I used regular "outdoor" vinyl for the wine glasses. I used outdoor because the reviews said it handles higher temperatures and wear and tear better than regular vinyl. I can def. send you any photos you may need just let me know!

Etsy was my best friend for my bridesmaids bags. I have 3 but Etsy was having a sale on their tote bags (5 for $50) that I was able to get their names & had a bow. The other 2 I’m giving to our 9 yr old flower girl & his mom (she’s helping so much). They had makeup bags that I was able to put their name on the outside & their title & date on the inside. The bags had washing instructions so I printed them up do everyone has it do the names won’t wash off. I was able to score some pretty magnets @ Hallmark on their 75% off table so they were $1.75 each. Found some sterling silver earrings at a farmer’s market & since I wanted 3, I got them for $9 each. I work at a hospital & the giftshop was having a clearance sale so I scored some “fancy soap” for $2 each. All of my bridesmaids love to cook- the most expensive thing I got was specialty olive oil & balsamic vinegar. I really tried to personalize the bags & put what I knew each liked. I agree with reconsidering putting "Bridesmaid" on the leggings. If I recieved something like that, I would probably not wear it other than to wedding-related events like the bridal shower or bachelorette party. As far as doing it yourself, I say go for it! I have cricut and shirts/heat transfer is actually one of my favorite things to work with. I do have a shirt press, which makes it a bit easier, but you can also use an iron, it will just take more time. In my experience, the vinyl does not peel off if you take care of it properly (turn inside out when washing, line dry instead of using the dryer). I would use YouTube to learn how to do it if you are new to cricut or HTV projects. Look up Jennifer Maker, she has lots of in-depth videos for cricut beginners on how to do lots of different things! Once you learn how to do things with it, you will love it! I made all our wedding signs and several shirts for my bridesmaids! Let me know if you have any questions or want pictures of anything!
