Bridesmaids hair

Alexandria, on September 15, 2020 at 4:53 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 12

Are you guys having your onsite stylist do everyone? I feel like that's overwhelming and time consuming? Should the girls go to a salon or do something simple themselves? I feel bad being the only one with a professional. I do have a small party so it is possible... Suggestions? Smiley smile

My onsite stylist will do everyone if they want her to do their hair, otherwise it isn't a requirement. I chose a specific style and literally all of my bridesmaids have had this style before so I told them that I'm perfectly fine with them doing it themselves or going to someone professional it didn't matter to me!

Are you requiring them to all wear their hair in a specific style?

I will say this ask your ladies do they want to pay for a professional. Unless you pay for them I would not require it. I am getting my hair done and my MOH does not want to. I even offered to pay for her ha ha. I would not feel bad being the only one with a professional. It is your day and you are spending the money. You can give them the option to pay or do their own thing.

I hired an onsite stylist, and anyone in my wedding party is welcome to get their hair/makeup done (totally optional, but it's available if they want it). Every wedding I've been a bridesmaid in, has had an optional professional hair/makeup artist available for anyone in wedding party. Depending on the number of people getting their hair done, the stylist often brings an assistant to make sure everyone is done in time. Talk to the hair/makeup artist about how many people plan to get their hair done and what time everyone needs to be done at, and they'll help work out a start time and number of stylists.

Also, if the bride says it's optional for the bridesmaids, the bridesmaids can pay for their own services. If the bride requires that the bridesmaids get their hair professionally done, the bride should cover the cost for everyone.

I will say, I have been in A LOT of weddings (bridesmaid or MOH 17 times), and nearly every wedding has had a professional(s) doing the bridal party hair and/or make up, and it really isn’t crazy or overwhelming. It’s actually one of the most fun times of the day I think!- hanging out with the girls, eating, drinking, chatting, laughing and getting pampered. The stylists & makeup artists are professionals, and they deal with this on a regular basis. They are good about keeping track of time and staying on schedule. So don’t worry about that part! Especially with a small bridal party. If you are going to request your girls have their hair or makeup professionally done, then it is considered good etiquette for you to pay for those services. If you don’t mind the girls doing their own hair and make up, you can make the professional services optional to them.

Giving them the option sounds like a great middle ground. Thanks for the input ❤️

My HMUA did everyone's hair and makeup in my bridal suite. I made hair and makeup optional for my bridal party, but they all chose to have it done.

I am paying for my girls to have their hair done but my 3 women wanted to do their own makeup. My HAMU ladies will arrive at the hotel suite my daughter and I are staying in and we will all get ready there. All 3 of my girls are moms and teachers and right now especially need a break. There are also 2 Junior bridesmaids (my niece and daughter) who are 9 years old that are also getting their hair done so it will be a lot of fun!!

I wanted everyone to get ready together so we made sure our venue had a large bridal suite (it had 2 rooms and a bathroom) and we hired 4 stylists total to work on 9 bridesmaids, the bride, and 3 moms hair and makeup. We got ready from 10AM-4PM.

I am just requesting my flower girls wear their hair in an updo. My bridesmaids can do what ever they fell as long as it's not bed head, lol!!
