Bridesmaids itinerary

Anonymous, on January 16, 2012 at 7:09 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Does anyone have a bridesmaid itinerary? I'm thinking of drawing up one.

I want it to include the cost of the dress, make up & shoes etc.

What do you think?

Ill be working on a BM newsletter as soon as i get moved into my house with attire information, various hair and makeup quotes if they decide to get it done, dates/times and contacts of various parties (shower, batch, rehearsal), a day-of timeline, where they need to be and what they need to be doing ect. the more information the better.

I sent out an email last year when I had finally picked out the bridesmaid dress after taking a poll of which they all liked best ... to tell them what the dress was and how to order it ... I then talked to them about shoes and then let them know it was optional but they could get their hair/make up done ... gave them 4 months notice to order their dress then 6 months out I sent out an email about hair/make up gave them 2-3 months to decide if they wanted their hair/make up done and then I sent out an email with details about the parties mid July ... in little chunks is okay too in other words ...

I am using this for my wedding http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/mrs-daffodils-wedding-weekend-organizational-packet-template-1. Now that I am getting closer to my I will be having a conference calls weekly and sending out an e-mail of tasks to make sure everyone is on task. I'm also going to make schedule some outings so we can spend sometime together before the big day.

How many BM's do y'all have that you can't just send them personal messages? I find if I mass message my 4 girls I rarely hear back, but if I send them a personal text, they are more likely to give me their opinion, say they'll be there, or whatever. If I was your bridesmaid I would much prefer to have a conversation with you than to be micro-managed and treated as one of a herd.

That being said, an actual itinerary the week of the wedding is a great idea. My brother was very disorganized and never really told my parents where to be and when for his wedding so my dad actually requested that I give him an itinerary of the week before the wedding.

I will have a timeline drawn up for the boys and for the girls that they will get with their gifts. It will be made for each person. Some will be responsible for more then others so.

I personally have a timeline for the whole wedding in general as for timeline's and agenda's for the BM's well... no matter how hard i try nothing seems to get done one time. Then again i did just have to kicked out one BM for acting like she was/is better then me and the other BM.

Good luck, i know it works for some but it doesn't seem to work for my girls and guys!

I'm giving them the tentative write up of the itinerary to my bridal party this week at our meeting and an updated copy 2 weeks before the wedding. I am trying to make working with me on the wedding as fun as possible so we will be going to Chipotle, watching movies, and to the cup cake house to discuss wedding plans.

All of my girls are on FB so I created a private group on there where I shared pertinent info as it came up (ie prices of shoes, dresses, important deadlines, etc). I created a day of "itinerary" for each member of the wedding party which I mailed to them with their rehearsal invites. These itineraries included a schedule of where to be throughout the day of, and reminders of things to bring. Everyone said they were really helpful since it gave them an idea of how the day would go ahead of time.

Here's a link to the google doc version of our itineraries. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D-6UA3ad2NUsydQrZHCYvq_EkAGJrvhKkl0vRgA65Iw/edit

One of my bridesmaids created a blog where everyone could comment on things and pool ideas, post pics/ links, etc. I was tired of sending mass emails/ txts and my bridesmaid love it so it works for me.

If you plan to stick around and tell us more about the wedding, please change your picture. Then we can remember you better.

    ~ Thanks
