Bridesmaids Proposal Boxes

Kitana, on June 9, 2021 at 3:49 PM Posted in Planning 1 8

I need ideas for my bridesmaid proposal boxes. What did everyone do for theirs? I have 3 bridesmaids and one maid of honor.

I mailed personalized puzzles to each of my bridesmaids! Once they put the puzzle together, it spelled out a message asking them to be my bridesmaid. This way, it was inexpensive, fun for them to put together, and didn't put pressure on them to say yes.

If you have your heart set on proposal boxes, you could always include things like candles, fuzzy socks, candy, personalized wine glass, a bottle of their favorite wine (maybe even with a custom label asking them to be a bridesmaid), etc. Pretty much whatever you want to include!

My MOH is out of state so I shipped her a wedding cake scented candle from Lulu Sugar on Etsy.

If you want to make something for hand delivery, you could include a drink tumbler with their name on it, their favorite candy, their favorite alcohol, makeup bag, nail polish - really anything you can think of

I didn't create a box for my bridesmaids, but I got matching bracelets, bottles of wine (sparkling juice for my younger sister who is not of age), and wrote personalized letters for each of them. It wasn't too expensive and was super cute. If you are set on boxes, simple jewelry, makeup or things like that are super cute and fun. But either way I really recommend short letters because it makes them feel special that you thought of them personally and didn't just group them together without a thought.

Personally, I decided not to do them, but I've seen a ton of cute ideas. Instead a did a cute little gift rather than a full one proposal box. I would make them individualized based on what each girl likes. For example, one girl I asked was not only my friend, but also my coworker and we were constantly getting Starbucks so I bought her a drink and put a note on it that said will you be my bridesmaid. Another girl I gave a bracelet. I know wine glasses are popular items to go in a proposal box, but I don't drink so for me I would personally like a mug or water bottle better than a wine glass. Other things I have seen in them are letters, robes, candles, a photo of you with the bridesmaid, a gift to some place like Starbucks, bath bombs, lotion, candles, etc.

Not doing these because everyone is too far away to justify shipping costs and they pressure people to say yes on the spot.

Avoid any wedding related, monogrammed, names engraved trinkets. Keep them personalized to their interests instead of one use fits all.

Personalized Starbucks cold cups and a "diamond" pen. Then there's a little card I got off Etsy that says "now pretend you're surprised...." on the front, because we've all been waiting for this for years 😂

I know what you mean, looking online people do some outrageous things! I bought some standard boxes on Amazon, and printed and glued photos of me and each girl to the inside cover of her box. I bought each one a makeup bag and scrunchie. I mad an info card with some important information about the wedding to place in each too. My last addition is a small bottle of champagne because after all it is a celebration! I’m torn on including a personal note (mainly because I hate my handwriting so I don’t think it’ll be as cute as in my head)
