While I am known in the friend group for giving gifts, the proposal boxes are a hard pass. I would rather give them a phone call/text/private message without any pressure to say yes. If everyone lived closer (they are all over the country and none local so have to add shipping on top of that) I would ask them individually over coffee or lunch with no gifts.

None of them are the type to have any use for the knickknacks that are in them. I would rather spend more on a heartfelt thank you gift at the end that fits each lady’s personal interests than skimping to afford a proposal box of stuff that will end up tossed out

I didn't do large gifts because I didn't want anyone to feel obligated because I was spending money. I bought little hairtie packs from Etsy with everyone's role (which will be the only role related gifts they receive) that say "Name, will you help me tie the knot?" and included them with a handwritten note for each. They were cheap enough that if someone said no it wouldn't be a big deal and I thought they were a cute little idea to do something, but nothing too crazy.

The whole box seems like a bit much. For my sisters, the oldest of whom is my MOH, I asked them directly. I asked the MOH face to face over brunch, and the other I asked over the phone. For my two friends that I asked, I got a bit more creative. I wrote and then recorded myself reading a poem that I wrote for each of them about the history of my respective friendships with them, and then for both, the very last line was "Will you be my bridesmaid?" I then texted the recordings to each of them and used as a ruse, "Hey, I just wrote this. Could you take a listen and give me feedback?" It must have worked pretty well because they both said yes! Smiley laugh Now I just have to get them all gifts!

I love bridesmaid proposals! It's definitely a thing in my circle, but it all depends on your girls and what is the norm in your social circle.

I do agree with others about useless 'clutter gifts', they're a little unnecessary. My friends and I love The Bachelor. So I got them a bottle of Rosè with a label that says "Will you accept this rosè and be my bridesmaid?", along with a rose. They all loved it! And of course, it was very useful and simple.

I did a charcuterie box with a mini bottle of champagne. Tied around the champagne was a tag that said 'will you be my bridesmaid?'. I love to cook and I have a food blog, so giving food (especially cheese) is a very 'me' gift to give. I know my friends love charcuterie as well as we've gone out to dinner many times and have gotten charcuterie boards to share. I wasn't concerned with 'putting them on the spot' as I've been friends with all of them since elementary school, have been in their weddings and they pretty much knew they were going to be in my wedding already. I only have 3 girls in my wedding party, so it wasn't too expensive either. I got the boxes on Amazon, the cheeses, meats and accoutrements at Trader Joe's and the mini champagne bottles at a liquor store. All in all, it was less than $20 per box.

Definitely not necessary, but I thought it was fun to do!

I found little picture frames with clips at Ross, painted their names on them, and printed of a picture of us together, and a card with a cheesy saying rhyme, like "found my mister, now I need my sister". I think mine cost under $30 total, I am going to do an official bridesmaid gift, so I did not want to spend a fortune on a proposal. It was very easy/ low key but still felt personal. I picked colors that went along with each of their houses so that they could change the pictures out if they wanted. For me, I am close enough with each of them that I didn't have to worry about them saying yes, like someone mentioned.

I will say I have been on the receiving end of some proposal boxes, and while the gesture was super sweet, but a lot of the items I ended up throwing away (Ex. I have sensitive skin, so I don't really use the masks or bath bombs)

Not necessary, but I did small boxes for mine. I went to bath & body works and bought them champagne scented items. I put those in a box with a card and called it good. They all said they liked it. LolBridesmaids proposal boxes! 2

I just had a maid of honor I just asked her. Got her a necklace. It was for being a maid of honor I didn’t do a proposal box or anything.

IMO they are a waste of money. Especially if you are buying stuff for the girls for the day of the wedding, and you have a bigger wedding party. I bought cute cards on Amazon that said, "will you be my bridesmaid". I'm saving the goodies for the wedding day! My girls are getting day of jewelry, matching shirts, hair ties, personalized cups, and champagne flutes. Just keep in mind sometimes things change and bridesmaids may drop out of the wedding, or feel obligated to say yes because you're presenting them with a gift.

They are cute but I personally skipped it because I thought it was a waste of money. Instead I bought my bridesmaids their dresses, earring & necklace, and paid for their hair and make up. If you do want to do want maybe make it yourself. I’ve seen wine glasses, wine, cards, bracelet, etc!!
