Bridesmaids wearing corsages instead of bouquets!??

Laura, on June 19, 2014 at 9:27 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 32

I never really thought of it before but I think I want to do this to save money on flowers and the guys will be walking the girls down anyways so what do people think? We are also doing a Brunch wedding so I feel like it wouldn't be weird to do that idk what do you think?

Are your bridesmaids ok with it? Will you be carrying a bouquet? If everyone has corsages including you, it should be fine.

I like them! Never would have thought of that. I think you could get away with BMs wearing corsages and you yourself carrying a bouquet. Quite honestly, I don't think anyone would notice. If they do notice, I don't think their reaction will "Oh my, did you see that her BMs are wearing corsages and she is carrying a bouquet? Sooooo tacky." Lol. :-)

Personally I think they're high school dance-ish and don't say wedding. Id probably rather have nothing then them? Or just a clutch? But like I said totally my opinion, and I personally don't care for flowers in general (no boy boutineerrs- butchered spelling- instead suspenders, argyle socks, pocket square)

I was debating, mostly because of the fact that it is cheaper. However I realized that having something to hold gives you something to do with your hands. And if everyone is watching you walk, having something to do with your hands helps. (At least to me).

I see the corsages working if the GM walk the ladies down the Aisle.

Convenient idea, but it does look prom to me. to save money they can carry a single flower.

There are other alternatives to bouquets if you decide not to do corsages. My girls will be carrying lanterns. Just google "bouquet alternatives" and you'll find a lot of cool ideas.

I didn't want the expense of bouquets, so I made pinwheels. Each one cost less than $5 to make.

Ultimately, BMs want to have something to do with their hands while everyone is looking at them, so I would avoid corsages.

My bridesmaids have a pin-on corsage because their hands will be busy with all the rituals of the Catholic Wedding Mass I am having. They are also carrying in all the items for these rituals so it'd be too tricky to hold those AND hold a bouquet.

I think the corsages look cute, but I think it will look weird if they are walking down the aisle with nothing in their hands. If the have a corsage but then have a cute purse or parasol or pin wheel in their hands then that would look wonderful. But just a corsage with nothing in their hands would look funny.

I'm not a huge fan. I like that bouquets give the BMs something to do with their hands.

I love the idea, but I must agree standing up there with nothing in their hands will be kind of awkward. so find a cute clutch or something instead, again the idea is very cute!!

I'm agreeing with the consensus. It's awkward with nothing to hold. @ MrsLittle, in hindsite, I wish I would have done clutches, so cute!
