Bridesmaids wearing corsages instead of bouquets!??

I never really thought of it before but I think I want to do this to save money on flowers and the guys will be walking the girls down anyways so what do people think? We are also doing a Brunch wedding so I feel like it wouldn't be weird to do that idk what do you think?

I still don't understand why it's hard to be a bridesmaid with nothing to hold. The men are holding nothing! Why do women need something to hold all the time and men don't?

I know it may be awkward for some women because they're used to holding something in a wedding, but I don't think it's a very big deal. We walk around without holding stuff all the time. If someone is truly uncomfortable, figure out the best placement for arms/hands and instruct the team to follow suit.

Truthfully, it makes me think high school prom but I understand the idea behind it as I think I'm going the same route. I'm considering candles in hurricanes or lanterns. I really like the idea of a single flower though.

Btw, I do like the idea. I looked into it but am just doing some cheaper Trader Joes flowers instead. My sister and mom will work on them a few days before, and if there are any bigger ones there I may just tie 2-3 together with a ribbon. I figured this was an easier DIY than making corsages, from what I could find.

Reminds me of prom. There are other alternatives you can go with that will be much more elegant.

I have to agree with ELFie. The groomsmen never hold anything. Since the guys only where a single flower on their shirt, maybe the girls could wear a matching flower in their hair.

I agree that bouquets can definitely add up. Idk if I'd go with the corsages, I thought "oooooh pretty!" when I saw the pic at the beginning, then I read that it looked like prom and that's all I could see lol. So my opinion is pretty useless Smiley tongue If you're aiming to spend less on flowers I've been to a few weddings where the bridesmaids each carried a single flower and I thought that was really cute. At the reception the bridesmaids each put their flower in a covered vase kind of thing at the head table that reminded me of beauty and the beast. Idk if that's what they were going for but that's exactly what it looked like and it was pretty!

I probably wouldn't do it, but it's your wedding! I agree with the others that not having anything to hold could be awkward for your bridesmaids so I'd ask them what they thought. If you need a cheap alternative check out Hobby Lobby and go when their wedding stuff is 1/2 off. They have bouquets you can get for about $15-$20 each which may be comparable to a fresh flower bouqet.

I vote for small simple bouquets. They look prettier and make for great pictures.

At my friend's DW I didn't know until 5 minutes before the ceremony that she got me a coursage instead of a bouquet. I got really anxious of the thought of everybody watching me walk down the aisle with nothing in my hands. I ended up with a bouquet in the end but the thought of not having SOMETHING to hold scared me, lol. If you're going to go that route I would run it by your BMs first.

They are pretty, but if it were me I wouldn't know what to do with my hands! if you are looking to save money, why not get some real touch flowers just for the bouquets? I had some and people thought they were real (my dad literally got a vase with water and my mom was like um... these are fake" lol). I went through afloral.com, but you could also check out etsy if you want someone else to make the arrangement

I was thinking about doing this too, i found some pics that had pearl bracelets as the band of the corsage.
