Bridesmaids wearing different shoes?

I told them wear whatever and they all decided to wear silver, but not matching shoes. Being a bridesmaid 6 times though, I've never had to buy a specific shoe, just been asked to wear a particular color.

All my girls are wearing long dresses and they are free to choose any shoe they like, most have said they will be in flats and I'm perfectly okay with that

I'd almost wait until you have dresses picked? Obviously, let her wear something comfortable, but this way you can put off the worrying (ha-if that were possible, right? ) so you can focus on dresses. The dress may dictate what kind of shoe (heel optional.) But it may look better strappy or not depending on the length and whatnot. Good luck! Now I'm thinking about shoes lol

I gave no direction- we picked out a dress together- mostly MOH liked that one and everyone else was like works for me. Other than that I told them do what you want !

My BMs are wearing long light gray dresses. I asked them to wear any purple shoe they felt comfortable with. I know they could be different shades but I thought it would be fun, especially considering the dresses are long.

My girls are wearing long dresses so I just told them to get the same color shoes and didn't care if they were the same. As long as they're comfortable.

My girls picked their dresses and are picking their shoes, too.

My girls are all wearing different short dresses and nude shoes of their choice. If the matching is important to you, could you put all of the girls in flats?

Mine are wearing long dresses and the only advice I gave them was that it be flat since the wedding is outdoors on uneven grounds. I didn't tell them any color or anything else. I've never noticed shoes for bridesmaids when I was a guest so don't really care what my girls wear. One of them is still wearing heals because that's what she's comfortable with and we have an agreement that I'm allowed to laugh if she falls.

I promise you that no one will notice what shoes they are wearing. I would pick a dress first, and then give them a shoe color and let them wear what they want.

I would just tell them a color. I'm not making mine all wear the same shoe (partially because my sister is 6'1" and doesn't like to wear heels)

Also if do you get long dresses please don't require your BMs to get a special matching shoe. I just had to and I'm still a little annoyed cuz no one will see them and I will never wear them again.
