Hey girls,

My FH and I are having a little dispute. I pretty much just gave my bridesmaids a color and told them to go and find a dress that actually looked good on them. I didn't want all my girls to be in the same dress. Some people do, some people don't. Well, my FH thinks that all of them wearing different dresses is going to look stupid. Aren't a lot more people doing this? I thought wearing different styles was starting to become pretty common?

We did the same thing. The lady at the shop did suggest that you have the same fabric and order them at the same time so that they do all have that same color and I told them that it had to be tea length. I thought it looked good and they all picked the dress so that they couldnt complain

I had originally planned on my girls wearing the same dress but when we went and tried on dresses, no one style looked good on both girls. We chose the same color, material and length but each got the dress that looked good on them

My girls all 10 of them are wearing different dresses. However, I did choose the color, the designer, the legnth and the material. They just got to choose the style they wanted. With girls of different shapes and sizes it wasnt fair to put them all in the same dress.

That's pretty typical now, but I've asked my girls to all wear the same style. I wanna be the one to stand out! Smiley smile

I think it wil look nice if they use the same material. Colors will look different depending on the material. Also, i think the look will be more cohesive if they were to use the same shoes and jewelry.

I selected a color and fabric and sent them all to db to pick out what they wanted. i told them that as long as it was from db, it was floor length, it was chiffon, and it was db's marine blue then they could pick whatever they wanted. (db had about 10 styles that fit these reqs)

doing it this way, i made sure the colors matched exactly: dbs dye lots are the same, and different fabrics tend to reflect light differently too.

Im doing that! i picked about 8 dresses that looked good together and told my 5 girls to try on the one they liked. They all have different bodies and heights and lucky for me, they all chose a different one and liked the idea! My little cousin loved hers so much it will be her prom dress after the wedding.

all the styles were strapless and so is my dress but they dont compare to mine!
