Bridesmaids

Lauryn, on March 1, 2021 at 9:15 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
Due to Covid and having to reschedule my wedding to Dec 19th I have two bridesmaids who don’t think they can attend anymore because the date is inconvenient. I’m fine with that and understand everyone has a lot going on. I just wasn’t sure what time frame I should give them to decide if they will be in the wedding or not.

I would give them plenty of time still. As long as they can find a dress in time, there shouldn't really be a deadline. Maybe check back in with them in the fall (around September or October) to see if they're able to make it?

December is still a while away, but I can understand why you'd want to know for floral reasons and other planning. I would say that you should tell them probably by September you need to know so you can finalize your plans and it'll give them time to get a dress and have it altered.

Good idea thank you! Yeah the dresses are a special order color and take like 3 months to come in now due to Covid. We also got a deal on and Airbnb and since they’re out of town guest we would need the Airbnb a day earlier for them. I just don’t want to loose that deal either but also want to respect their time and schedule.

That makes sense! If the dresses take 3 months to come in, then I would check in with them around 4 months in advance. For the Airbnb, can you book the extra night, and then cancel later if you don't end up needing it?

I have a bridesmaid who just announced she was pregnant, and is due literally a week before my wedding. She isn't sure what that will mean for the wedding, so she is playing it by ear. She has her dress, and if she's up for it or able to be there, she will throw it on and walk in the ceremony If she isn't, it will be okay! I would just kind of see what your friend is thinking a few months before and just tell her you want to have a final count for the florist and coordinator!

That’s a really great idea. I will message the owner of the Airbnb and ask.
