Bring a friend to hair and makeup trial?

Shelby_Erin26, on July 22, 2016 at 11:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I'm on mobile so I'm not able to use the search tool right now.

Should I bring a friend to my hair and makeup trial? I can't decide if it would be helpful or distracting.

My MOH graciously gave up her afternoon to come with me. It was nice having another opinion I trusted and that wasn't trying to sell me on anything. It's all up to you if you want someone there!

I took my husband. I needed another opinion and none better than my best friend. I wasn't worried about him seeing me beforehand tho. Mine was only hair tho.

I didn't take anyone. It didn't seem necessary to have them sitting there the whole time. Photos were enough, and I hung out with my MOH later that day.

Thanks ladies! It's tomorrow morning so I'll see if anyone's available but I'll live if no one can go. Wish I would have thought of this sooner!

Bringing someone else is a huge pet peeve for most of us MUA. Especially when they aren't the one having their makeup done. Try having your hardest work critiqued by not one but TWO people - on the spot. Leave the friend at home.

I brought a friend. With wine and cheese. I just wanted to be safe since it was someone's house. It wasn't an issue and I tipped well.

I would bring someone who you trust, is honest, and isn't overbearing. The last quality is most important for me.

Bring a friend if you want to. I am a hairstylist and I certainly don't mind when people bring someone, as long as they sit nearby, but not in my work space. I want my brides to have a trusted opinion...I want to know she is secure in what I have done for her and if she needs an extra set of eyes, I am totally ok with that! Smiley smile

My MOH came with me and she was a huge help. The trial didn't go so well and she made sure to get everything right before we left. I'm not sure what I would have done without her there!

I always prefer going to salons with friends and when I get my hair done or nails I usually call one of my friends and see if they want to make a day of it (and vice versa; they call me etc) it's much more fun than just sitting there by yourself. Plus you get their opinion right away and they're seeing it in real life and not on a phone.

I'd bring a friend, if they wanted to go.
