Brunch wedding need help with music?

Carrie, on March 27, 2019 at 12:23 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
So we settle on a Sunday brunch (it was our first date). We are opting out of a DJ, because it doesn’t seem fitting for a wild dance party. However, I still want to rent a sound system for playing music. I found some for $150. My question is what is the best technique for music. Buy and make a playlist? Find a good YouTube channel to play? Pandora? We have Amazon Prime too. Maybe we can get music downloaded off that?

Spotify would be good. You can create playlists or find many, put them on shuffle. I think you will have ads unless you pay a small fee. I use it all day long since I work at a desk as a designer. There are hundreds of playlists to choose from and I think you'll find what you're looking for.

We have seen no dj weddings go less than desirable. Try to pick songs based on your audience and danceablility of the song. If it's too slow or just fun to sing along for one verse maybe those get cut. My brother did this for their wedding and literally played songs nobody ever heard and it was difficult to dance to. Another couple made playlists but weren't dance songs at all and the college friend group had to take over and dj. Another couple had so many slow and artsy songs again people had to take over.

We also had a brunch wedding and it was a wild dance party and people were itching to dance and the dance floor was filled with our 100 guests from start to finish (2:30-6:30pm) but we had a DJ and it was as top priority for us.

We are doing a brunch wedding as well . We both decided having a live band Would be best instead of a party dj . But if you must a I would create a play list on a extra phone or tablet and let it shuffle songs .

Very cool. A band sounds like an awesome time. My fiancée is a big band person, but I’m sure it’ll be awesome for your big day.

I am working on Prime music since we have membership for now. We’ll see how that goes. If not maybe I’ll try Spotify.

Spotify is the way to go! You can create your playlist and then download it if you have to, like if you don't have good cell service and it won't require internet connection. They also run free 3 month trials so you can do the trial and then cancel I after your wedding if you want. I have Spotify and use it all the time! I have so many playlists.

Those are good tips. Bad service would be a buzz kill.

I would say anything that does not have ads would be perfectly fine. If you are using a service with ads, I'd pay to remove them for the wedding.

I think making your own playlist or Pandora would work well...IMO. However, an acoustic guitar soloist sounds really nice for a brunch wedding too (if that is an option for you).
