Brunch Wedding Timeline help

Joy, on March 5, 2022 at 1:38 PM Posted in Planning 2 4
Hi guys! Love to get your advice regarding my brunch wedding next year. As of now, we're planning to do 3 hrs (11-2 pm) for both the wedding ceremony and reception, however I'm nervous this may be too tight. I'm considering extending the start time to 10:30 am - 2 pm however I do have out-of-town guest who will be driving 1 hr max from the venue. We're not planning to have a dance floor, but we are thinking of doing first dances, mother/father dances, and toasts. All the dances & toasts would be short. Also, our ceremony and reception will be in the same space. We're budgeting a cocktail hour of 45 mins and we're planning to take most of our bridal party & couple photos post-reception. What do y'all think? Is 3 hrs too short? Thanks for your recs!

Just clarifying, you're planning on a 30 ish min ceremony? so that would put to 11:30, then cocktail hour until 12:15, and then from 12:15-2 for speeches/dances/and brunch? Is that correct?

Also! I should add we do have a wedding planner/coordinator and she said our timeline should work? Thankfully she's worked at our venue before and said for our guest count of ~150, it should take 30 mins for the full buffet line to go through.

I would say it should be fine, especially if your planner thinks it will work. One thing we're doing is our dances right at the start of the reception (before people go through the buffet line) so you could do that and then do speeches once everyone has sat down with their food to help save some time, that way once the meal is over, you may have a little bit of time to mingle.
