Bubbly Centerpiece Help Needed

Bonnie, on January 1, 2012 at 2:53 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

My fiance came up with an amazing idea for our centerpieces but find that we are going to need help on how to actually do it. We are wanting to have the tall, square vases filled with water and one of those crystal things that light up a certain color when you submerge it in water. What we are wanting to do is find a way to have bubbles going through the water all night but don't want to run extension cords to all 20-30 tables. Does anyone have any suggestions?! I'm hoping we can pull this off with some great help from the great and creative people on here.

I've been looking on google and asking friends how they think this can be done and the only answer I've come up with is dry ice...which will give you bubbles..but it will also give you a misty fog that comes from the top as well.

Maybe try a small amount of dry ice at the bottom with taller vases?

Cydney - That is a really cool idea but we are looking for more of the champagne type bubbles. I do appreciate the that you are looking around for me! You are awesome!!

Lol...I had a feeling that's the effect you were trying to get. I will continue to look and ask around to my contacts in the wedding and event planning industry...I have a feeling you may need to have these things plugged in...sometimes you're lucky and find little devices that can make the effects you're looking for, but I have yet to see one like you're asking for.

They do make battery-operated aerators for fish tanks but it would be pricey to buy 20-30 of those for one night... Pondering if there is a better idea.

I am very curious to what you end up using. I am a florist in CA and had that very thought of how cool to create the champange look in large vases, possibly with florals on top; with the bubbles inside. Dry ice is great, but wears out shortly after submerging, like a halloween caldron. Too much smoke for weddings. There has to be something, if I find it I will share. Good Luck and Congrats!!

Hi! I know this thread is older, but I was wondering if anyone figured it out. We are trying to do the same thing with out centerpieces. Thank you! :-)
