First off, I plan on using debit cards/checks for my wedding stuff, no wedding debt for this girl! But I thought it would be neat if we shared with each other little ways that we've been saving money. For mine: I'm starting to make my own coffee at home rather than getting it at cafes; I'd save...

But I thought it would be neat if we shared with each other little ways that we've been saving money. For mine: I'm starting to make my own coffee at home rather than getting it at cafes; I'd save about 8-12 dollars per week.

We cook more, I drink coffee @ wrk instead of buying it, and take my own breakfat & lunch this saves $40-50 a week. Oh yeah we have a change jug so any extra change we have left over we put it in there this is how I paid for my dress @ least 50% of it.

I love my coupons. I have bought wedding things using Michaels and AC Moore Coupons. I save about $50 a week at the grocery store. We don't eat out often. If we do eat out, we don't buy drinks. I am totally conscious of our electricity, gas and water usage.

We save our change....each day I put the change in my wallet in a jar. You would be surprised how much you save doing that.

    Good topic!

When I buy stuff, I purposely use extra bills so that I have change. I put all the change in the change bucket. :]

I refuse to buy anything from michaels/hobby lobby/joanns without a coupon. I think everything Ive brought from there, Ive had a 40% or 50% off coupon for. I also signed up for emails from my favorite stores like macys, kohls, etc and make a point to only shop for clothes or other such items when they are having sales.

When it comes to saving money on wedding creativity is key. Always go for the Clarence section first. Explore your options and think of alternatives that can give you the affect you were going for. Coupons are great but may still not get you want you need for the price you’re looking for. With that said you may wanna do things like order a simple cake and make it your own by adding a few extras yourself.

I moved back home with my parents-It was a tough choice, but now we will have a lot more money saved after the wedding!

We also don't eat out as much anymore and we have been renting a lot of movies instead of going to the theater.

I know this sounds like a silly, little thing, but it's helped us a lot...we save all our change. We have a jar for quarters and a jar for everything else, and when it gets full, we deposit it in the bank. We've accumulated several hundred dollars this way...who knows what we were doing with all that change before we started!

I don't spend money on stuff I don't need. I look, ask myself "Do I really need this?" and if I can't think of when I'll use it more than three times, I'll say no.

I don't have a credit card, I refuse to use one (I don't trust myself, haha).

I buy everything on sale. If I had a printer, I would print out coupons (I should try to sneak them while I'm at work).

As for the coupon.com question. All you have to do is download a print coupon link and it works everytime. It's not additional to your computer itself but it shows up on the website. I thoroughly enjoy it. Retailmenot.com is great for online coupons. I never online shop without checking their first. Saved myself 40 bucks at oldnavy just the other night cuz of that. You can also print coupons for dept stores or anything else there really. Store specific.

My parents had a jar that they put change in. They made a promise and they never spend coins. They only spend the paper even if they need a penny for the change. It gives them 99 cents more for the jar. That jar paid for our vacations and we saw a huge amount of the world. My FH and I have started our own jar. We are hoping it will pay for the honeymoon.

We also use coupons and take our lunches instead of buying them. My current needs are all wedding items so I budget for each thing and buy it when I find it on sale.

I started clipping coupons on Sundays. We also cook our lunch. As for wedding wise, I have bought used stuff and I am getting some extra hand me downs! I also use generic brands, they work just as good as name brands except pads! Lol

--Don't overbuy at the grocery store. Really, just buy what you are truly going to eat before the expiration date.

--Do you really need to turn up the heat in your house? What about wearing a jacket and a blanket?

    --Don't buy bottled water.

--You truly don't need to use as much detergent as the bottle says.

--Don't eat out for lunch, dinner, breakfast.

--Buy some items in bulk--like tp, kleenex.

--Try to bike, walk or take the bus instead of driving...if you do drive, consolidate all your errands and try to drive at a constant speed. Make sure your tires are properly inflated and that you have changed your oil.

    --Wash your own car.

    --Dye your own hair.

-- We split our grocery shopping between Whole Foods (non-Filipino foods) and Seafood City (for filipino foods).

-- If we find something we like/need in store and can wait a few days using free shipping, we check Amazon to see how much it is and if it's cheaper to buy online.

-- We tell each other of purchases more than $200 that require "approval".

-- When we see something we want (eg, don't need), we "sit on it" for 24 hours.

-- DH makes his own iced coffee at home (My parents send us ground Kona coffee from HI).

-- Being pregnant, I cut down heavily on the coffee as well.

-- Again being pregnant, I haven't spent any money on my beer - Newcastle, Morimoto Soba Ale, Guinness.

    -- We carpool to work.

-- We cut down on eating out for dinner from 6 days a week to maybe 2 days a week.

-- For maternity clothes, I surf the online stores of Motherhood/Pea in a Pod because they have more sales online than they do in-store.

-- Cancelled my subscription of Netflix and use DH's instead
