I just received a quote from my florist and I am shrieking. I chose eucalyptus and white roses thinking it would save me some money but I was wrong! Does anyone have any ideas on how to save? 1. Do people always have an arch with flowers? 2. Do people always have flowers at the table along with...
I just received a quote from my florist and I am shrieking. I chose eucalyptus and white roses thinking it would save me some money but I was wrong! Does anyone have any ideas on how to save?

1. Do people always have an arch with flowers?
2. Do people always have flowers at the table along with other small decor?
Thanks!

The top photo is a picture of our arch. I didn’t even want flowers I just wanted a dark rust cheesecloth draping over it to make it look simple and beautiful but my SO really wanted flowers so we are doing the cheese cloth and then arrangements on both corners!

No to both. Many weddings don’t have an arch in sight. Fiftyflowers.com and Costco.com are cheaper than any silk/faux flowers. But you have to factor in your time as well. Candles are a good alternative.

If you have a Wegmans near you, that’s your best bet! They have event packages that include several bouquets or centerpieces for a few hundred $$. You get a lot of bang for your buck! They also offer DIY boxes that come with different flowers for you to work with!

I am doing my flowers myself. I choose Ling Moments. They have there own website but it is also available on Amazon. My budgeted flowers will be under $500.

Hi we are doing real like flower they feel real but not the look just as beautiful as the real fresh flowers do. Plus paid all of that money for flowers that are only for 1 day. We doing DIY from bouquets and bountaires and centerpieces. They real you can still have that look but not breaking the bank or your budget it's really your choices what ever you decide for your day. My bouquet was custom made with satin flowers and brooches and jewels all over it. Under $100.00 you can find all different types of flowers Michael's craft store or go to the stores where you live or out of your area a bit to find the flowers you want.

We used sola wood flowers for the bouquets and We are doing live greenery such as vines for the tables, We are having pumpkins and gourds as well since it is Oct 8 and is outside and a rustic DIY theme. For the ceremony we rented the arch spent about $20 ON SILKS at Hobby Lobby with drape chiffon that I got on Amazon in 2 colors for a total of $29. so for around $40 we did the whole arch.

I have seen people buy wood flowers (solawood? Or silk maybe) 2nd hand from other brides and save tons of money for things like arches! I have also heard of people DIYing their bouquets and arrangements. Real eucalyptus can be pricey but you can find fake eucalyptus to supplement and make it fuller (and get some real eucalyptus for the scent) and just get a few bouquets of whatever flowers they want and arrange them themselves! They can turn out super pretty and for a fraction of the cost!

Hi! I’m a 2022 Austin Bride and have been about to save $7,000 on my wedding. Here are a few of my tips:

    1. Negotiating with vendors (i.e. offering to pay in full upfront in exchange for 5% off)
    2. Researching most cost effective flowers and swapping out for more expensive/out of season flowers
    3. Utilizing faux cake tiers with icing and buying sheet cake instead

Not sure if it would be beneficial but I’m happy to help others do the same - just DM me!

You can use silk flowers they just as real also you don't have to put flowers on your tables you can use pictures, candles, vases with light and use these big pom poms that look like flowers can be just as nice elegant and can incorporate mirrors too.

    No arch for us

I wasn’t going to do flowers on the table but I got an amazing price on flowers from Sam’s so we ended up with enough for 4 bouquets, and flowers on 12 tables and the bar.

Flowers are definitely not necessary for either. We're doing flowers for ours but they're all greenery or wildflowers (the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages are actually dried flowers I'm DIYing) and the centerpieces will just be a cheesecloth table runner, some candles, and plucked leaves scattered on the table which is free if you go to a a park with some tree fallen leaves. I brought my junior bridesmaid with me and she had a blast helping me pick "the perfect leaf" lol
