JULIET, on June 3, 2021 at 12:43 PM Posted in Planning 1 16

Ladies lets talk about budget.

What is your wedding budget?

What's included in your budget?

And are you sticking to it so far?

How many people are you expecting on your big day?

20k-25k - well thats what its looking like it'll be anyways.

Budget for me is Venue, Food/Drink, Floral, Photography, Dress, Invites - mostly big things - I'm not sweating the small things like accessories/save the dates

So far so good, haven't gone over yet but there is still time lol

Inviting maybe 80ish, expecting maybe 60ish

My parents are helping out a lot which were so thankful for! Parents budget 16-18k and our budget 10k so combined around 28k. We have remained within our budget for the wedding and the rehearsal dinner. And have everything booked now. Invited 233 guest. Expecting all but hoping for around 175 lol

It's a 2nd wedding for us, so we wanted to go small, budget of $10k.

However, it's looking like we'll be closer to $15k, with everything included, for 60 guests.

    Big items are:

    Venue ($4k)

    Photographer ($2k)

    Food ($1.5k)

    Alcohol ($1k)

    Dj ($1k)

    Dress and shoes ($3k)

    Day of Coordinator ($1k)

    Flowers (mostly greenery) ($500)

    Cake and Desserts ($400)

    Invitations and STDs ($200)

What is your wedding budget? started off with around 10k, hiked it up to 15k

What's included in your budget? most of my budget went to the reception with most of the expenses for the food. that was what i prioritized. i was very fortunate there was a lot that i didn't have to pay for. otherwise i would have been way over my budget.

And are you sticking to it so far? i went a little bit over it. like maybe 1k over.

How many people are you expecting on your big day? 250

Technically speaking, we never really set an official budget (on the bright side, I guess that means we can never technically “go over” budget lol) We mainly just researched vendors and chose the ones we thought would best fit our wants/needs/vision, and have created an excel spreadsheet to keep track of our expenditures. We are including all costs associated with the wedding (basically all costs for the actual day of- so not the rehearsal dinner, honeymoon, engagement pictures, HMU trials, etc.). I couldn’t give an exact figure, but we are well over 6 digits at this point. We are very fortunate in that my parents are paying for a huge portion of our wedding! We have not finalized our guest list yet, but prior to having to postpone due to Covid last year our tentative guest list was 364 people

Ours is somewhere between 30-35k. Started out wanting to be around 25k, but as we decided on more of what we wanted it just didn't work out.

The biggest expense for us was renting our venue for the whole weekend which was 10k. Would've only been 4k for one day, but if they had a wedding the day before us we couldn't get into the venue until 10am day of to decorate anything and the thought of that gave me waaay too much anxiety.

Next biggest is catering/open bar that's looking to probably be around 6,000 (which includes cocktail hour and late night popcorn bar).

We are currently at a list of around 165.

    Disclaimer: vow renewal, not wedding.

    Budget is 38k.

That includes literally everything I can think of: venue, photography, videography, ceremony musicians, cocktail hour musicians, reception band, food, alcohol and bar service, cake, refundable deposits (since the way I see it, even if they are refundable, it's money out of my pocket until after the event, so it should be accounted for), chair rentals for ceremony, furniture rentals for cocktail hour, table and chair rentals for reception, décor for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, a special event guest we want (animal meet-and-greet!), personal flowers (bouquet and boutonniere), my dress, alterations, shoes, hair accessories, makeup/hair/spa services, his suit, shoes, and cosmetic services (in case he wants a cut, facial, etc.), stationery (STDs, invitations, programs), officiant, planner, transportation (we're going to drive his classic car, but I'm accounting for all costs like gas, tolls, etc.), taxes, and tips.

Sticking to it? We aren't that far into planning. I do expect to come in under budget, because I have rounded up in a lot of cases, overestimated (I estimated $10k for food/drink, for 25 guests, which I highly doubt we will hit, though we do have some unique food stations that are separate from the caterer), and/or prepared for "worst case" (like transportation... in case we need to call a tow/get alternative transportation. The likelihood of that is very low, but it is an antique car... better safe than sorry!)

How many people are you expecting on your big day? 25, currently.

We started at $15k for 100 ppl. We ended up slashing our guest list in half & rented a smaller venue to try to stay within budget. Currently we are over $17k after hiring all of our major vendors & purchasing dress/accessories & some DIY decor. Still have to do rentals; invites; dessert table & cutting cake; his wedding band & suit; alcohol; WP gifts; & all those little last minute items & unexpected expenses (tips, license, etc). Pretty sure we will be over $20k by the time we are done. This doesn’t even include the honeymoon. 😅

    What is your wedding budget?

We're planning to spend around 15k.

    What's included in your budget?

Everything lol. (Food, drinks and alcohol, DJ, photographer, videographer, venue - which included all the decor tables and chairs we will need, favors, wedding stationary, dress, suit, bridal party gifts, hair and makeup, florist)

And are you sticking to it so far?

Yes! We're right on track, which is great! We decided on the first day of planning that we didn't want to spend money on unnecessary things unless we have the room for it by the end of planning. We're grateful for my mom, FH's parents, and his mom's bf. My mom is splitting the venue cost with us, FH's parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner, and FH's mom's bf is paying for our DJ as our wedding gift.

We're at 11k right now and just have to book our caterer and someone for cocktail hour and also the alcohol.

How many people are you expecting on your big day?

Our guest list is at 195!

I was trying to have a cheaper wedding. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on just one day when I could put it to good use somewhere less. My budget originally was $3,000 for every thing. Not including my dress, rehearsal dinner and food for cocktail hour. However I’ve lost count but I’m pretty sure by the end of it I’ll be around $5,000-$6,000. Not including our honeymoon. Our honeymoon we are looking around $4,000 total.

Originally $15k then thought $15k plus whatever a planner costs (I’m overwhelmed). Now $0 (#overit) because one planner said she could do a nice elopement for $15k and not to listen to anyone who says they can plan 50-75 people for $15k unless it’s very non-traditional - ie dinner at a restaurant. Reading the comments is eye opening as well!

$6k which is up from original ~$4k. We originally thought we could do it for free at a friends' place I've done events before but it fell through. Cheapest venue available when we could do it, that let us DIY is around $2k. Thinking around 100 people, chill but a lot of the "normal" wedding stuff- bit gourmet spread, live music and DJ, photographer. We're just outside Philly in NJ, it's taking a lot of planning to do it on this low of budget here and most people think we're crazy, but it's coming together pretty good so far.
