Buffet Dinner / rsvp Card

Sara, on July 30, 2018 at 9:21 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12

If we are having a buffet style dinner where everyone can get a piece of each type of meat (chicken and beef), is it necessary to put the options on the RSVP cards? The price doesn't change in regards to what a guest gets since they're getting both if they want it.

We're having a buffet and I did not included that on the RSVP because they can grab either one when they're up there

No. They only thing you might want to ask guests about is particular food allergies but if all the food is clearly labeled and you have vegetarian options, you shouldn’t need to put anything about food on the RSVP cards.

The only time that’s needed is for plated service when the caterer requires knowing beforehand.

We are having a similar dinner and are not including it on our RSVP cards.

We are also having a buffet and do not plan to include anything about food on the RSVP card. WE have different options, including vegetarian, so we didn't feel the need to ask any questions regarding dinner.

Nope, it's not necessary if you're doing a buffet. I would put the menu on your wedding website or print out menus for the reception or have a big menu printed and displayed.

No, it is confusing for guests. Usually a meal choice means there is a platted dinner and that they can only have the one option they chose.

We asked for any dietary restrictions or allergies on ours. I have some vegan/vegetarian and gluten free friends and wanted to make sure I could arrange with the caterer for those guests to have a proper meal. Our caterer is fine to make a few veggie plates for the vegetarians or vegans who accept our invite.

I put it on there just so guests know the options-some are picky and 2 are vegan. But obviously, the day of we will say eat whatever because it's a buffet.

No, not at all! Unless your caterer needs to know, guests don't need to pick for a buffet since they usually take both proteins.

I wouldn't bother to put it, but you could fill any open space with a somf request line to make it a little less empty
