Buffet Menu VS Beef, Chicken, Seafood

Audra, on March 6, 2011 at 4:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

So my reception venue has amazing food at reasonable prices. Which I'm excited about! But the only thing I have concerns about it picking out an assorted variety of food

Deluxe Hot Buffet: that includes a lot of casseroles, pastas, and roasts (3 picks) with choices of 1 salad, 2 vegetables, 1 potato or rice, and 1 dessert (or cake cutting at no extra cost)

OR

USDA choice of Steak, Chicken, or Seafood (or vegeterian tho I can't think of any) with choices of 1 salad, 2 vegetables, 1 potato or rice, and 1 dessert (or cake cutting at no extra cost)

I hate making decisions for others lol. I'm afraid that if I choose 3 deluxe hot buffet items people won't like any or people will regret their steak, chicken, seafood choice. What would the WW brides do? lol I need some pros and cons

You have 2 solid options. I would do the steak, chicken, or seafood option. Checked out your link and it all looks yummy. The buffet options are not a bad choice either. It is just my personal preference.

I would go with the steak, chicken or seafood option. Served meals always feel nicer to me and more special.

I had the same choices for our venue. But we decided to go with a plated dinner due to the fact that we are expecting 200 guests. I don't want 200 people trying to go through a buffet line.

Served plates are more formal and easier on guests (I doubt anyone will regret their choice)..however make sure the portions are big enough..with the buffet guests can stuff themselves silly, and you can be pretty sure they won't get hungry later; unless you are serving refreshments after, although every wedding I've been to has not served food after dinner and I never felt hungry or anything :-)

We are doing a buffet. One reason is because of cost (buffet is slightly cheaper), and another reason is because I wanted my guests to choose what they were going to eat. We will have two meat choices, two vegetable choices, two rice or pasta choices, as well as a salad buffet filled with pasta, potato and leafy green salads. We have quite of few picky eaters in both our families.
