Bulk Flip Flops for Wedding Guest

Marley, on November 11, 2015 at 11:46 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

Hi There, I am getting married in a 35 days :-) and I just heard of a great idea about flip flops for wedding guests via instagram. Does anyone know where I can buy about 125 flip flops in solid white or black? Thanks so much for your help!!

Check out the dollar store or Kmart since you'll miss the Old Navy sale.

ETA: Old Navy Flip Flops are on sale for 2.50 each -- while not their $1 sale -- it's not bad.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I have been to a lot of weddings where flip flops were supplied (and ballet flats too). And not once did I see anyone take a pair or wear them. I don't think I've even seen people dancing in bare feet.

I personally would not feel comfortable taking my shoes off at a wedding, especially since I always wear stockings (and sweaty feet, ew). If you have a lot of older guests, they may not be into taking their shoes off either. So maybe buy only enough for the ladies you think might use them?

I do think it's a super cute idea though.

You can bulk order from the Dollar Tree online! I'd also recommend Old Navy online (note Black Friday is coming up and usually they have a fabulous %off)

I'm with olivebranch. Seen them but never seen them being used. Summer wedding? Maybe. But not for a winter wedding. I just dang barefoot! Save the money or use it somewhere else!

I think it is just another one of those "cute things" that Pinterest makes us think we "need" for our wedding. The $200 could be better spent on something else!

    @SwoleMates2016 -- I totally missed the part where it's a winter wedding.

In that case, if fuzzy slippers were supplied, I'd definitely dance in those! Smiley smile

And I have to agree with @Kelli. Personally speaking, I'd never be able to come up with an extra $200 for flip-flops.

To each their own though. What do you think @Marley? Has this advise helped?

Thanks everyone for your help!! I was on the fence and then asked my bridesmaids and friends and they loved the idea of taking off their heels later on in the night! :-) I actually went to www.mypartysaver.com thanks @Lauren they were great. They had the exact color organza bags to match my colors (white and lavender) and they come already tied and sized which makes it a lot easier for me!! The code worked too :-)! I will let everyone know if they get used during our wedding, but I hope they do. Thanks everyone and Happy Planning :-)

Hi @Marley, welcome to WeddingWire! Smiley smile

If it's not too out of your budget, I really love this idea. I actually did wear the flip flops offered at the last wedding I was in ~ didn't know they would be there and then was super excited! There were only a few left by the time I noticed the box, too. I was so done with my heels by that point and it was nice not to have to dance in my bare feet (liquids, etc).

As other's said, it's not a necessity ~ but it was such a nice guest perk!

*ETA - Whoops! Didn't read your last comment before I wrote mine. Sounds like you figured it out perfectly Smiley smile

I bought 25 pairs from Old Navy and only spent about $55 and received free shipping. I love the idea and my guest list is only about 100 and I figured women only would want to take them and not all would so I didn't buy for every guest. The last wedding I went to I would have loved a pair of flip flops because my feet were killing by the end of the night!

We bought flip flops for our guests, around 40 pair in all sizes from old Navy for $2 a pair. Every single pair was gone at the end of the wedding and our female guests loved the idea. It was fun to see everyone wearing them on the dance floor. I think if your venue is inside, even with it being cold, they are great to wear on the dance floor and guests can always change back to their shoes when they leave. They were a major hit at our wedding and worth the $.

I am definitely doing this but I wish Old Navy had more colors right now. They're only $2.50 though! How did you guys decide how many of each size to get?

Danielle we got more in the 8-10 range and only about 5 pair each in sz 6 and 7. Even if they were a little too big I think that's better than trying to shove a big foot in a small size.

I say with a winter wedding do slippers or lounge socks (the thick kind with the non slip stuff on the bottom). I'd also recommend maybe trying a mega beauty supply store (not like Sally's or a commercially ran brand think more one that sells weave in every color, makeup, hair care stuff, everything in between) those are usually family owned and you could probably negotiate a price for the whole box with the owner directly.

Hi @Danielle, we went to the FAQ section of mypartysaver.com and used their sizing breakdown. (figured trust the experts LOL). And they do 20 L, 20 M and 10 S for every 50 you order. I started with that breakdown, plus I have tall bridesmaids so I actually requested more Larges and they were happy to accommodate. Hope this helps!!! :-)
