Bulk flowers from Sams/Costco. 2 or 3 days prior?

Misty, on May 22, 2013 at 11:12 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Who has purchased roses from Sam's Club or Costco? I'm planning on ordering the 3 bunch/petals combo pack. It says to order them to arrive 2 or 3 days prior to the event. I was thinking of setting it for 3 days before. Is that better than 2? I would like them to open more rather than having more closed buds.

What do you think?

It depends on what kind of flowers you are getting. If hydrangeas 2 days prior is best if its roses 3 days for them to bloom is great. The petals should be kept somewhere cold like a fridge. My sister is a florist so if you have any other questions feel free to ask Smiley smile

Yep it was a sams order problem.

You will need to keep the petals cold in a fridge with no fruit.

Here's the thread for you...it was something we were considering too but this makes me hesitate, especially when the replacement flowers are wrong AND the wrong color.

I want to clarify for you guys the Sam's Club thing...I know she was frustrated and I would be too...HOWEVER...on the order page it does say:

    Substitution Policy:

To assure optimum freshness, different varieties may be substituted based on availability. In making substitutions, we take great care to ensure that we exceed your expectations, and that you will be satisfied with the flower quality and performance.

I am planning to use them...actually ordering today. I sent customer service an email inquiring about my specific florals and they responded immediately saying my flower of choice would definitely be available. If you are concerned about a specific flower, why not email them....???? It gave me peace of mind once I KNEW.

There may be a color variation due to the variety in season.

Note: Due to the variance in monitor color and screen tones, the flowers you receive may vary in color from the image on your computer monitor. If you are purchasing bulk roses to complement your wedding tones, be aware that we cannot guarantee the same variety when more than one case is ordered. We will make every effort, however, to match the shade of color.

Costco also provides care instruction for each flower type.

Added - I would order them to arrive 3 days before so you or they have time if there is an issue.

Thanks for all the comments. I did see the other thread back when it posted. A. These aren't as exotic as orange gerberas, these are pink roses and petals, B. These aren't my entire wedding flowers. I have a florist doing most of it; these are just petals and extra roses for here and there. If they didn't show up, the show would go on.

I understand what the store recommends. My main question is in others experience will 3 days be too much? Will 2 days be too little? I'm leaning toward 3 days. I just want to make surethey wont be going bad by day 3.
