Bunches Direct - warning!!!

CHERYL, on June 8, 2018 at 1:48 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

I ordered my wedding flowers from Bunches Direct to save some money. What a mistake. The flowers appeared to be in good shape upon arrival. We followed the instructions and kept them in water for the 30 or so hours prior to setting up our hall. On our wedding day, 80% of the flowers were perfectly fine, but the white spray roses had browned and were largely unusable.

Here's the thing: Bunches Direct won't do anything about it. Nope. If you don't contact them with a photo within 12 hours of delivery, they do nothing. So if part of your flowers look okay on delivery but don't make it to your wedding without turning brown, you are SOL. Even though they recommend that you order the flowers for delivery 2-3 days before your wedding, so clearly they SHOULD last that long. But no, if you get to your wedding day and they are brown, droopy, and unusable, that's just too bad.

Luckily these were only part of a larger order and we were able to work around the fact that we couldn't use them. But it's not what you want to deal with on your wedding day.

I would definitely write a review on multiple websites. So sorry that happened to you.

Sorry you had this experience. Did you read the reviews before you ordered?

Leave reviews anywhere you can? Did you read reviews beforehand? I’m shocked as to how many people don’t do that before ordering.

Thanks. Definitely posting reviews wherever I can. Somehow my search prior to ordering did not turn up the reviews on teh Canadian site, I guess I can consider myself lucky compared to some of those brides!

As I mentioned above, I did read reviews but they were positive. My search did not turn up the Canadian site shared by muriel.

Wooow, that's horrific! What terrible customer service. Definitely leaves reviews for others to look at!

Usually, you need to cut the stems on roses fairly regularly to allow them to take up water. Did the instructions tell you that?

That's terrible OP. We ordered roses from Costco for my oldest daughter's wedding and they were beautiful on her day. We had them delivered on Thursday for her Saturday wedding. Thanks for sharing to warn others!

So sorry you had to go through that. This is what I am afraid of so I said I would purposely order a small bunch of flowers from one of the floral websites and see how they turn out first before I make my official big purchase.

There were no specific instructions to the type of flower, only a generic set of instructions to make an initial cut on delivery.

I'm glad you got most of your florals in tact. I hate this happened to you and that they were being so strict about the refund policy. I wrote several posts about these on-line direct flower warehouses. The problem is the shipping time and the way they prep the flowers. Unfortunately, this is par for the course. If they don't prep all of them correctly and they're on the plane 2 or 3 days before it gets to the customer......this could be the result. I also agree with the poster about improper care instructions from the company. I seen tons of reviews similar to your for several of these flower companies including Costco's. When it works, it works great, when it doesn't the bride is left scrambling and stressed the day before her wedding.

I would recommend that if anyone buys flowers on-line that they have a few bunches of back-up stems they purchase locally (whole food market, trader joe's, etc) and if at all possible, try to work something out where you can purchase all your flowers locally from a flower farm or market.
