Burlap table runners...

Liz, on August 2, 2012 at 12:59 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5

Did anyone make them? I really want to make mine but am not sure how wide and how long to make them. My tables are 8 ft round tables. Our linens go to the floor but I don't think the runner should be that long. Also where is the best place to buy burlap in bulk rolls. I would like to add a lace edge too. My inspiration pics Smiley smile

I will have burlap table runners as well, but I'm having my mother sew them (I never learned). She sent me a mock runner that I loved but I think she's holding off on doing anymore until we meet up with my "decoration lady" next week. Were probably just going to take a few yards and decide then what the best length and width will be when we have everything set up on the tables. As far as where to get them, I think she already has a "go to" type material shop. But I know I have seen bulk burlap on e-bay for pretty cheap too.

I am in the same spot as you. I am getting close enough, I want to get the linens but haven't yet so I'm not really helpful. I know a lot of people suggested Joanns fabrics. I also saw some on ebay pretty cheap. I was looking at Hobby Lobby with a coupon, it wasn't too bad, but I am still going to price shop. You will have to keep us informed where you decided to go! Good luck

Nice! I'm having the same considerations and actually found a good suggestion on Wedding Bee but I'm interested to know what you'll choose. People are always saying how burlap is cheap but when you need to buy a lot of it and you have a lot of tables...

    nice pics btw Smiley smile

Im getting burlap from Joann Fabric's. Get their phone app and you can get coupons for 40-50% off!!! So all in all my runners will cost about 3.66 a piece. I am making them 1' wide and 9' long, but my tables are rectangle.

Your runners should be 12 to 18 inches wide depending on the width of your table. Use very sharp scissors to cut clean edges and use spray glue to attach your lace and you should be good to go. Use the time saved to rest up before your big day!
