Bust too big for my boobs.

Julie, on August 15, 2021 at 8:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Bust too big for my boobs. Seemstress told me couldn't make it smaller and suggested I take my boobs... But I don't have much. I also lost a lot of weight. When I purchase this dress I was told that they would be able to resize if I lost weight. Please advise of what I should do?

Can we see the dress? How much bigger is it than your natural size?

It may be that it will substantially change the dress or damage the structure to decrease to the degree you need to.

I would suggest getting a second opinion, and also see if you can pad the girls a little bit in the hopes of being able to meet in the middle.

Some alterations can change the integrity or structure of the dress so the seamstress may be concerned about doing so if the bust were taken in significantly but it all depends on the dress, the fabric, how much needs to be taken in etc.

I agree with Rosie, get a second opinion before doing anything further.

This was taken three months ago - this dress was a bit too small on me. They ordered the size that I was at that time. I told the semestres/ owner I was loosing weight and wanted to order at least the dress size I tried on. She advised me not to do that and said she can make the dress smaller and fit me just like this if I ended up losing the weight I told her. I felt confident and comfortable with her saying this. She also told me she has fixed dresses that needed to be taken in by six sizes. Therefore I trusted her and moved forward. Now the bust is way to big on me due to the weight loss and have very little boobs. Also, the waist area is too be and wrinkly.

This is the new photo. If you can see it’s a huge cup size, the front looks very wrinkled and has a lot of material. They said they couldn’t do anything about it. I had an expectation and is it not being met. I just don’t feel like I did in the dress I tried on three months ago.
I lost over 32 pounds and I feel bigger in this dress than I did on smaller dress when I was heavier.

As someone cursed with a-cup boobs and size 8/10 hips, I feel your pain. The waist in the 2nd photo doesn't look too wrinkly at least from the photo. With regards to the bust - what about adding cups? I'm thinking of doing that to my dress.

I'd get a second opinion. I would have thought it would be possible to take some material out from under the arms that would make the dress sit better. But I agree with Maddie as well. Some cups put in might boost things a bit more so they sit more the way you'd like.
