I’ve heard about a French bustle where it’s sort of tucked underneath but allows the lace to still show you should ask your alterations person about it

I think wrist looks are strange looking - always have for some reason, but I think your fabric on the skirt would be okay with a loop, but I agree with PP that it may get super annoying to keep up with.

I love bustles and I’ve seen quite a few that look nice and still keep the integrity of the dress or dress details that you want to show off. I would talk to a seamstress about bustles and she can always pin it into different styles and you see if you like one before the final decision is made.
