Bustle your own gown?

I'm cringing at the thought, but I'm thinking of bustling my own gown, it's an Alfred Angelo 1516 and I'm looking at doing a three point over bustle. Has anyone done their own bustling? And how do you think the bustle would look with this gown? Sorry I don't have a picture on this computer.

Justine, isn't that a beautiful dress? I just fell in love with it when I saw it. Kelly and Kimm, yes, definitely going to do a few practice tries first. My grandmother is a possessional seamstress but doesn't have much experience in bustling, but if I choose to try it I'm sure she can give me some pointers!

I have done Bridal Alterations for a very long time and while doing a bustle looks simple, you will be much better off having a professional do it. They need to be done properly so they stay up throughout your reception.

Good luck - I hope you can find someone.
