Buy groomsmen outfits??!!

Amy, on May 15, 2021 at 5:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Ya'll I am having the hardest time with this. My dress/ bridesmaids are somewhat formal and have been purchased for months. My groom has been dragging/ delayed getting fitted and now in a bit of a rush trying to coordinate our summer wedding next month. He wants something less formal and not so hot as a wool suit. The rentals seem too complex as everyone's in a diff state, plus our Tennessee destination wedding would require a 2 week tux rental for him. Anyone buy their outfits?

Anyone use Jim's Formal Wear and buy the "Destination Wedding Suits" in linen? They don't show any reviews for products so it's hard to know the quality. Thanks in advance!

We ordered his suit from Etsy! Lots of shops on their make suits according to measurements, it's great! For the groomsmen, I found some khaki type dress pants on amazon & had my FH send them all the link to purchase. They will be wearing khaki pants, button up white shirts & suspenders with bow ties (all aside from shirts from Etsy!)

Hope you have luck finding what you're looking for!

I personally wouldn't order an item without any reviews. If it were me, I would go to a department store like Macy's or Kohl's and find a suit you like then send the guys a link via the store's website for them to purchase or find one on Amazon that has good reviews and offers free returns. I also see that Men's Warehouse has linen suits that could be purchased as well.

We were in the same boat! We went to a men’s shop but everything looked so heave for a June FL wedding. We actually ended up at Macy’s and found a lighter “summer” suit that works perfectly... I’d try those depart stores...

We bought my fiancé's suit at a local shop, it was about the same cost as renting a tux would have been and now he has a nice suit.

We knew someone that had all the groomsman purchase suits (+$350), which personally I thought was crazy! BUT in some cases tux rentals can cost the same as purchasing a suit. I’d just be careful, because suits and/or tuxes should really be custom tailored for the best fit. My fiancé went to a local (non chain) location for his. A few groomsman live out of state and all they had to do was go to any rental store near them and the tailor called in the measurements to our store. So that’s always an option. Apparently it’s very common.
