Of course I got suckered in at Kleinfeld and bought a dress on Saturday after promising myself I was just going for the experience. Now, I am having second thoughts on my dress!! Of course I got suckered in at Kleinfeld and bought a dress on Saturday after promising myself I was just going for the experience. Now, I am having second thoughts on my dress!!

This is my dress: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3443 and I didn't really want an A-line dress wanted more of a trumpet or mermaid and now I think it is too princess-y. HELP! Am I just freaking out because this is such a big purchase or should I cancel my order? I am already going to go back and try on the dress again but is this common? I am legitimately freaking out. Smiley sad

I also attached 2 photos of me in the dress.. please let me know what you think and how best to deal..

First let me say you look beautiful in the dress. I know how you feel. I purchased my dress several months ago and yesterday I went with one of my bridesmaids to have her dress fitting and saw their new fall line hanging around and wished I had a different dress. I think it's a normal feeling. I saw several brides trying on dresses that I loved better than mine.

My first dress that I tried on and LOVED is not the dress I purchased. When you know you'll know. The gown I have is not a dress I would have tried on but I absolutely love it and can't wait for Oct to wear it and show it to my FH. Best of luck in your search!

The dress is beautiful and in the second picture you have this huge smile across your face in which you are literally glowing and beaming of happiness.

I had the same feeling after I purchased my dress. I only had 5 months to plan our wedding and knew I didn't have much time to go to tons of different bridal boutiques to try on different dresses...I loved my dress and I loved that I was getting a designer gown in my price range...as long as I purchased the sample dress. I had another appointment after the place I bought my dress from that I really wanted to go to but didn't end up going in fear that if I left, the gown would be gone. So I purchased the 6th dress I tried on. Over the next 5 months, I literally cried and had second guessed my dress at least 25 different times. I constantly went back to the boutique to try the dress on again. I was completely unsure about my choice...plus it was NOTHING like the one I really wanted. (cont)

I didn't have the ability to return the dress/cancel my order as I purchased the sample gown.

In the end, after alterations and the cleaning and pressing were finished...when I went to pick up my dress 2 days before my wedding...after trying it on with my veil, hair piece and jewelry, I fell back in love with my dress. I got so many compliments on it and I loved being in it on the day of our wedding.

So to help you here...you're not the only bride who feels this way. I've seen others who felt this way as well. Ultimately it's your choice. I never got the "IT" feeling...when I purchased my gown...but I did get the "IT" feeling on the wedding day. The dress was made for me...and to be honest, the dress you have on in the pictures above looks as though it was honestly made for you. You look stunning.

You look amazing, and it's a gorgeous dress. Do yourself a favor- stop looking at other dresses! I drove myself crazy while I was making my dress I kept seeing new styles and wanted to change my design. Try it on again to be sure, then put it out of your head, you'll feel much better.

I love that dress and think you look fantabulous in it. But I agree if this is not the look you want, cancel it. At the same time tho, go back try it on give it a week it might just be you over thinking it.

I had some feelings similar to what you are experiencing. I started to think maybe the style of the dress isn't the best for me. When I tried on my dress again, I got the same feelings I had when I decided to buy it in the first place. Try it on again and you never know, you may feel differently.

Honestly you look absolutely gorgeous in that dress. And I think that's something that's important, you want people to think wow YOU look gorgeous in that dress, not wow that dress looks great on you... see the difference? and honestly you look soo beautiful. I would wait until you try it on again, i think it's normal to freak out a bit. Afterall it's ONE special day out of your life. So think about it a bit more, try it on.. then decide Smiley smile
