Buying a wedding band online?

Ashleigh, on April 18, 2020 at 10:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 6
We started searching for wedding bands right before everything got shut down so I have a good idea about what I want. Our wedding is in June, it was already going to be a micro wedding so we’re planning on keeping our date. I’m apprehensive about buying online but I’m worried about putting it off hoping everything will open in time. I found a ring I like on Brilliant Earth and like that they have a 30 day return policy. What have you experiences been with online shopping for wedding bands? Any online feedback is appreciated

Ive heard good things about Brilliant Earth but I have no experience with them personally. I got my FHs work ring from Larsons Jewelers. I wanted something durable that if he lost or managed to somehow break it wouldn’t be a terrible loss. His official ring is being custom made here in the city but the pandemic has halted everything nonessential here.

I purchased my band online (hello Black Friday sales!). I did purchase it from the same brand as my engagement ring. I heavily analyzed the return policy so I was certain I’d be able to return it if it didn’t work out. Luckily it was a perfect match! Between stay with the same brand and good return policy...you should be good!

My fiancé and I purchased our wedding bands at JamesAllen.com! Everything is 25% off. We got so lucky. We received $1,000 off our rings. And the customer service is great! My fiancé bought my engagement ring from there, so that’s originally why we chose to go back.

Both my engagement band and wedding band came from Midwinter.co. The rings are beautiful, and my experience with Midwinter customer service and ordering from them was excellent. As long as it is a reputable dealer, I would definitely buy rings online, especially if you cannot find a style you like locally, or things like ethically sourced stones or recycled materials are important to you and not readily available in your area.

Of course there are perks to buying from a local reputable jeweler too. My e-ring was the wrong size and we had to pay shipping to send it back to get it resized and the wait was longer than going to a local shop because of shipping it both ways and whatnot. My FH's wedding band was purchased locally and includes free resizing for the lifetime of the ring (however the shop closed down a month after we got his ring because the owner retired, so it didn't turn out to be much of a benefit). If you have a white gold ring that will need to be re-plated periodically, some jewelry shops might offer that service complimentary if you buy from them.

We got my engagement band from Doamore.com- a great jewelry company with ethically sourced diamonds and a commitment to drill water wells with each purchase! I only have good things to say- great price, lovely designs, and excellent customer service. Plus they have quarter sizes which is why I’m getting my wedding band from them as well, because it’s the perfect fit! Best wishes! Buying a wedding band online? 2
