Cake and Punch Reception Timeline

Sonia, on April 3, 2017 at 1:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

Happy Monday everyone. I've been online and can't seem to find adequate timeline information for a cake and punch reception. I know it has to be between mealtimes and we're getting married between 2-3 in the afternoon. Light finger sandwiches and a variety of salads with fruit and cheese platters with a cutting cake and cupcakes. The reception will immediately follow our ceremony at the church fellowship hall. Hoping to end things before 6. Thanks everyone and I hope everyone's planning is going smooth ;-)

Hi Sonia! What are you envisioning for your reception? Will there be music and dancing for everyone, traditional dances, toasts, etc.? That will definitely help you set your timeline!

In general I'd keep the reception on the shorter side since dinner normally takes up at least an hour with a typical reception!

Hey Sonia, try out this WW Timeline tool, you can add in info about the length of your ceremony, travel time between settings etc, and it should help you out http://mktg.weddingwire.com/ideas/wedding-timeline/. You'll likely need to delete out a few things that don't apply to your situation, such as dinner being served, since you're doing cake and punch.
