Cake cutting song?

Our DJ asked us about that and I didn't know people did it. But I guess it's just to have music playing while you're doing it. Idk what we will pick yet

Idk the point unless you’re specifically listening and it’s important to you. I’ve been to quite a few weddings and I think only once have I noticed a cake cutting going on.

I didn't know they were a thing until I started the wedding planning process, but we are doing one. I think it's just to have music playing while you are doing the cake cutting.

I think it's just to have some music playing while you cut the cake as opposed to silence. We picked When I'm 64 by the Beatles because we like that song and it seemed wedding related. It was really quick and people didn't listen to the whole song, so I think it's more ambiance music and not anything you need to think too deeply about.

Never heard of a cake cutting song... it will not take that long to cut. HMMMM interesting!

The point of a cake cutting song nice to have some music accompanying the cake cutting so it's not awkward silence I guess lol and the reason DJs ask, is because you might not want something like "sugar sugar" by the Archies or "pour some sugar on me" by def Leppard. You might want to hear something modern and more your taste.

The options are 1) no music...which would seem pretty odd if music has been playing all along and then it's awkward silence for the cake cutting, 2) the DJ just keeps playing whatever it is that they're playing...which means you might end up cutting you cake something totally random, which maybe you're fine with, or 3) you tell the DJ what song to put on when it's cake cutting time.

Honestly, it's no different to me than telling the DJ what specific songs to play at other times of the night when something specific is happening!

We used "Love You Madly" by Cake...you know, because Cake. LOL

Never heard of a cake cutting song.. Figured we would just let the DJ play our playlist during it. Might have to look into that though!
