Cake cutting

I know of couples who don't like the spot light and chose to cut the cake on the side. Is that what you mean?

We cut our cake on the middle of the dance floor and still got plenty of pictures from our photographer.

I think it's weird to take the cake away for the couple to cut it in "private".

Okay yes that's what I meant , not sure what we will do yet . It's such a nice cake to not be seen lol

I had not heard of this before... we'll just cut it the usual way in front of everyone. It's a party so we will be partying!

@MrsD17- thank you! :+) I think I was mouthing (choo chooooo) like my mom did when was little to get me to eat! Haha. My hair was a hot mess, as we had been out on the beach doing pics! Hubs looked pretty excited for his bite tho ha?? Too funny....it was goofy, but fun! LOL

I've never heard of a private cake cutting. Is the cake just not out on display at all during the reception so that the cutting can happen privately?

I'll be cutting the cake in front of family. I don't know anyone who's done it in private

I have never heard of that. We will be doing it the regular way in front of everyone. That is one of my favorite parts of weddings.

I am not doing it and I will have a problem with my FH if he smashes the cake in my face and fuck up my makeup lol

We will be cutting ours in front of everyone @tattooedbride just ask him not too. My FH really wanted to since every wedding he has been to has done it. I told him that its the first test of how much he respects me as a married couple since I really don't want it.

We're not even having a cake (gasp). We're opting for a huge baked goods table, lots of variety for everyone., we're just not into feeding each other.

I have never heard of this. There was one wedding I went to recently where they didn't do the ceremonial cake cutting. The cake just appeared after dinner.

Yes as in the cake is on display then it's just on the table cut up , maybe I should have worded it differently .

I think the cake cutting sometimes breaks up the party! I don't think I'd do it. Plus I want cupcakes so there's that
