Cake? Dessert table? Donuts?

We're going to do a traditional cake but we're also having our reception at a restaurant so we're going to have their dessert menu open for those who would prefer something different to wedding cake. Though, donuts are awesome and I wouldn't be disappointed as a guest. FH and I considered it for a short period of time.

I've been to a wedding with a donut table and everyone seemed to like it, they had a lot of variety. We are doing a traditional cake and a dessert table with at least 5 different options, probably some fruit dessert and pastries.

I plan on chocolate fondue fountain and fruits.. don't want to many sweets.. I think donuts are fine but they do dry out quickly...

I love donuts & would be happy but probably sick from eating to many. Lol

I think it's a great idea! And it saves so much money. We are having a mini cupcake tower with gourmet cupcakes for the guests topped with a 6in round for us.

Your wedding, do what you want

We'll be cutting a small cake that will be displayed on a little table next to our SH table - just for photos and the tradition of it - then opening a dessert bar with a few fun flavors of donuts and plated cake.

I'm Team Cake. We had a cake table with a variety of different flavored cakes instead of a large tiered cake.

I like donuts and pie and other desserts, but I think they're best when they're in addition to wedding cake instead of in place of it.

We will have a 3 tir semi naked cake. Then cupcakes and cake pops.

We are doing a small 2 tiered cake for cutting, and gourmet cupcakes for everyone else in 3 or 4 different flavors.

We ended up going the traditional route but I wouldn't be mad if I went to a wedding that served donuts - who doesn't like a tasty donut?!

We are also doing a cookie table. The cookie table is a tradition in Pittsburgh (my FH hometown) and my FMIL really wanted one.

I love the donut idea. It's hard to beat a good donut, in my opinion!

My FH and I are thinking donuts and brownies for our reception! We're not cake people at all!
