DO IT!!!! We didn't do a dollar dance, instead we had jars with a sign: "who gets the cake in the face? $1 = 1 vote". Me? $56. Him? $146. The guests loved it and it was so much fun. We had prestablished rules (mouth/chin only, no hair/eyes/nose) do it was easy to clean off. But I'll never forget how...

Want something fun! Cake in the face vote!

I get it now. This isn't about "cake in the face voting" as the title implies. This is about "please agree with me to give me validation or don't speak at all". Silly me thinking that public forum was a public forum.

My FH has already been warned, if he does, he's sleeping alone after I borrow his dad's walker to beat him. (and yes, Pop will gladly let me do it.)

I don't recall anyone saying Anna you are tacky. They stated that the act in itself was. But its whatever. You guys looked like you had a good time so thats all that is important.

I personally do not want to be picking cake out of my nose or finding cake in my boobs later lol just bc we don't personally enjoy this tradition doesn't mean that we aren't a fun couple, just means that we have a different idea of fun.

I've found that, for the most part, people who post ideas, DIY projects or wedding photos here do not want to here anything but accolades and validation.

So, in essence, keeping it positive means keeping anything otherwise to yourself. Yawn.

You know Amy B, I don't understand why you have such a problem with this post. I wasn't looking for validation, I was trying to share an idea for others that might like it. You don't have to like it. But why be so negative in the way you share your opinion?

    I just don't get it.

I think it's a cool idea! Looks like you guys had fun and I've never heard of a dollar dance or anything so thanks for posting.

We will be cutting the cake close to the end and will be the last pic op so as for attire, hair and makeup no big deal and as for disrespect whatever you want to call it, will not be an issue for me and FH and guest. We like to have a good time!

Save the seriousness for the ceremony and the reception is to celebrate and have fun!!

I personally did the cake smashing deal with my DH and everyone loved it. To each his own is my take on the whole thing.

What I don't find right is everyone making comments about how its disrespectful, etc. She didn't ask for opinions on the cake smashing, she was simply telling WW about a cute little twist on the whole cake smashing/dollar dance deal which SOME brides may find helpful!

What song did you choose to play in the background during this? I can’t find any good songs for it.
