Cake Server - What did you get engraved on yours?

Jennifer, on May 24, 2012 at 2:52 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12

We got our rings and cake server engraved this past weekend and the guy at the shop thought we were a little kookie. My ring says: "Kissies!" and FH's ring says "Snuggles Forever!"

Our cake server made him bust out laughing: "Cake or Death?"

We LOVE Eddie Izzard and his Dressed to Kill routine and we thought "Cake or Death?" would make our friends who know us best laugh and make people who don't know it scratch their head and wonder why we're so quirky.

What did you ladies get engraved on your cake server?

PS: We have 30 days left!!! YAY!!!

@Kris S. we seriously considered using something from home but we couldn't find my cake cutter so we snooped online a bit and found our on Amazon for pretty cheap. Smiley smile

How about "Let them eat cake!"

We didn't get anything engraved. Unless you plan on showing them off for years to come I didn't want to spend the money. Plus another bride can use them.

@Audra E. I love "Let them eat cake!? that's a great idea... We got something fun and silly, it doesn't have a wedding date or our names on it so we could use it again and again. I'm a closet pastry chef and love to bake and host parties so we're hoping to get a lot of use out of them. Smiley smile

@Kris, I can't wait to see what we forget. I know we'll forget something, that's inevitable.

We skipped this. Didn't see it as adding any value and really we had so much other personalized swag it didn't make sense to spend the money on this. Another thought, it will make it easier to sell them later if we want. Can't imagine we'll ever use them again.

We are borrowing a set from a friend who got married a few years ago. Didn't see a reason to spend the money.

@Celia Milton, yes little things do add up, but it made us happy and is something we'll laugh about for a long time after the Wedding. In the end it was about $50 to buy them and have them engraved. I think a good laugh every time we use them is worth it to us.

    Date Twin!

We bought a set in hopes of reusing at home and the matching flutes were given to us as a gift to use for the wedding.

Kate Spade New York "Darling Point"

The dessert set says "Mr. and Mrs." and each flute is separately labelled as "Mr." and "Mrs." We didn't haven anything specifically engraved on them. We'll probably just tie some ribbons on them to match.
