Cake Table Help!

CountingDowntoMrs, on September 25, 2017 at 9:58 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

I'm absolutely at that point where I am stressing and putting way too much thought into this...help!

Our cake is a 12", 8", and 5".

It'll be on a 60" round.

I bought this table cloth for the table.

Now, I'm stuck. I can't decide what else to do with the table.

Votives? How many...??

I'm going to have my 4 BMs and 1 JRBM law their bouquets on the table after the ceremony, too.

Honestly, I don't think you need anything! You want the cake to be the focal point. I like the bouquet idea. Put your serving utensils on it as well and I think you're golden.

Exactly what Michelle said.....bouquets are a perfect addition to the cake table. You normally have the cake knife, two forks, two napkins and a small cake plate.

Agree with Michelle. You could do nothing and it'll be fine.

If you NEED something, though, you could wrap the base with like 5-6 mini votive candles, just to give it a little something.

Also I would put those flowers in vases so they don't look like random discarded bouquets...

I would absolutely add votive candles. Probably about 6.

Votive candles and maybe put some of the BM's wedding flowers? That's what I plan on doing.

I'm only adding loose flowers. I hate when there is too much stuff on the cake table. The cake should be the focal point. Too much other stuff looks messy IMO.

We let the cake be the star. It was the cake on a sparkly cake stand on a table with a rosette tablecloth.

@Mrs. Knolle: what size table is that and do you remember size of your cake?

Dont forget your knife and server. I even got a personalized plate for us to feed the cake to each other. =)

You've got such a beautiful tablecloth, that between that and the cake, & serving utensils, it's enough. Esp. if you add bridesmaids bouquets.

If you're placing the bouquets on the table I think you have more than enough going on. Maybe add half a dozen votives but anything more is going to make it look to busy. Remember you also usually place the knives for the cake cutting and your toasting glasses on this table as well.

We are putting two 8x10" photos of both our sets of parents eating cake at their weddings.

We just had the cake there, and when the florist showed up she had included a free toss bouquet. We put it next to the cake and called it a day. You don't want it to be busy--let the cake shine!
